mine was doing the same thing. I found the plastic blower wheel was warped from years of sitting in the sun. Changed it with a new one and now my motor will last longer.

Try calling a local appliance repair or HVAC/refrigeration contractor.
A mechanical refrigeration contractor would have a better chance of having or being able to get replacement parts faster. But you have to get someone with an HVAC knowledge to look at it.
While the R.V. mechanics may be good at simple repairs or general knowledge, you need a trained eye to look at this issue here.
I would suggest to have a tech diagnose the problem and quote to repair. If the quote sounds reasonable, then go for it (your paying for expertise and a warranty). If not, then you at least have an idea of where the problem lies and what steps needs to take place to try to get it fixed.

It's likely that the contacts are stuck closed. You can usually just tap them with a screw driver and they will open but then you should replace them. If you don't know where they are. Find the power wires coming inside the unit and follow them. Contacts are fairly easy to replace as long as you do it wire for wire. In other words when you remove a wire from the old attach it to the new before removing another. I hope this helps. Please don't forget to give me a Fixya rating.
I need the motor for a mach EL air conditioner. I can not get a model number of the unit or a number off of the motor. Can someone help me. Its about a 1980 built unit.
