Onkyo subwoofer not working

I fixed my subwoofer. The resistor at R16 (right next to the fuse) was the fried component. I removed it and replaced it with a 13K ohm 5 watt metal oxide resistor (from Mouser Electronics if not available locally). Works fine now. I got the solution and the circuit schematic from an audio hobbiest at diyAudio.com. This is, evidently, a fairly common problem.

so sorry no one got back to you with an answer as we exxperts try our best to get back to everyone in a timley fashion .. Your problem sounds like it could be in the powe supply or the output section of the circuit. If your a handy man the I would leave this to the pros BUT if your a tech then you certainly can get the manual and procede with this repair. Sound shuts off

you wont unless you know a little about troubleshooting electronics and solid state audio. Your gonna need a meter a scope would be nice. and a schematic. Trace audio all the way. up front to the d/a converter when its working and when it goes out see where you lose it . If its way up front and you get no sound from the D/A converter then thats where your problem is. Sorry couldnt help ya more.. good Luck
