Flashing orange light

I have had a dodgy internet connnecion for about a month, the internet light keeps flashing orange (very annoying when you're in the middle of something important!)I have changed the filters, unplugged the phones and tried it, moved the router into the main phone line and no better. I have contacted my isp and they have apparently tested the line and say its fine, they advised me to speak to the modem manufacturer and reconfigure it. What d'you think? many thanks

If the green light is one of the port lights, then your network is switching into 10mbs (Orange = 10mbs, Green = 100mbs) - it may be a dodgy cable but more likely a faulty network card in your PC.

Is the lightening bolt supposed to flash orange? The battery will not keep a charge at all, so I have to keep it plugged in all the time. Does the orange flash mean I may be in danger of losing files, etc....

The orange flashing lightening bolt is confirmation the battery does not charge. It is not an indicator of any other hardware failure.

You can remove the battery if you find the flash annoying. The laptop will be lighter without the battery too!

Blinking orange light

if you got an orange light to the router, It means that there's no Internet connection or not working from the router. I might advice you to check the Internet connection from your ISP, then check the configuration of your router or you might needing to reconfigure the router.
