Question about Canon Rebel XT / EOS 350D Digital Camera
My Canon Rebel will not turn on. It will not do anything. I was taken a pictures and the next picture I what to take nothing happed. I did do what the book said to turn it off and then turn it back on in 30 mins. but still no lights came on or the camera did not turn on. Should I just buy a new camera or try to repair it.
I had the same problem. I didn't want to buy a new camera so I request a repair from Canon. I had to mail my camera in because I live in a rural area. They sent me a repair estimate for about $200. I approved the repair. About 1 week later they sent my camera back to me with my check. They had fixed the camera, cleaned the lens, adjusted the mirrors, etc. at no charge! Obviously I was happy with the service.

Assuming the battery has a full charge, take a peek at the batt and camera contacts to make sure they're clean. If dirty, you can use an eraser to gently clean the contacts. If it still doesn't function, have a camera repair shop provide a quote for repair. Then you can decide whether or not to purchase a new body.
