PC Cam 600 Does Not Work after Restore

After doing a restore on my XP system, it no longer allows my camera to connect. Even though usb is connected, says camera is not connected. Will not recognize camera when go to control panel to add new hardware. I had to uninstall the camera software and reload it. I am afraid the cam was still connected and somehow erased drivers from cam?? Is this possible? Do not know how to do a memory restore on the cam itself and have lost my instruction book.
