After doing a restore on my XP system, it no longer allows my camera to connect. Even though usb is connected, says camera is not connected. Will not recognize camera when go to control panel to add new hardware. I had to uninstall the camera software and reload it. I am afraid the cam was still connected and somehow erased drivers from cam?? Is this possible? Do not know how to do a memory restore on the cam itself and have lost my instruction book.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Unless referring to the old legacy keyboard that you have already mentioned
Assume the USB keyboard was purchased & supplied with the Vostro 200? If correct then it will have a USB 2.0 cable connector
Do not connect USB keyboard using indirect adapters/hubs etc.
Ensure the USB keyboard is connected directly to one of the USB Root Hub ports, (e.g. one of the rear panel USB ports) before you power on the PC
Does tapping the F2 key during boot loading allow access to System Setup (BIOS) Settings?
Ctrl+F11 will not work if you have previously done an XP Clean Install or deleted/modified partitions
If keyboard is OK then you may have to do a Windows XP Clean Install Also note that tried to do a system restore by going into
Start--> All Programs --> Accessories --> Systems Tools
--> System Restore t OR
If it is there you will have to start the computer, press F8,choose "Repair Your Computer"
will give you the information that you need. Another owner of this phone had the same problem and they posted the way that they solved this problem. I hope that you can get it to work and please let me know if you need any additional help. Thank you and good luck.
You can use web cam Drivers CD to restore the cam drivers. In case you dont have the drivers CD, you may download the drivers from the internet. Restoring/ downloading the web cam drivers depends upon the make/ model of web cam and the Operating System you have on your PC. Let me know the make/ model and Operating System Detail and I'll try to search for the drivers. Secondly, almost any good quality USB cam compatible with you Operating System (e.g. Windows XP) can be used.
Let me know if any further clarification/ assistance is required.
Hi, 1. Possible issue with the driver. You need to uninstall and reinstall the driver/sony software to your computer. Complete uninstall required then restart your computer, install the driver, restart computer then connect your camera. 2. If #1 didn't work, it is a possible issue with the Operating system update, usually messes up the internet connection and other 3rd party software. All your need to do is to perform system restore back to the date when your were able to your camera and computer normally. ** Here's how to do the system restore for Win vista and win 7: Click on the start menu, go to all programs, go to accessories, go to system tools and look for system restore. Click on system restore then follow the prompt then choose the restore point for your computer. **For Win XP Click on the start menu, go to all programs, go to accessories, go to system tools and look for system restore. Click on system restore, choose Restore my computer to earlier time, there will be a calendar where you can choose the restore point for your computer.
this is in April...so make sure all connection are connected...go to start/all programs/accessories/system tools/system restore...(you are going restore your pc to an early date when it was working properly)...next...choose March 04, 2010..your system will cut off and restart you must click ok when prompt to do so when booting back up
there is a web cam mode in the camera settings put it on webcam mode check the settings in camera , and then connect it to ur computer actually u are connecting in usb mass storage mode it will only allow u to copy pics to ur PC for webcam if ur camera supports it u should have this mode in ur camera menu check and then connect it thru usb see if it works ok
Probably has corrupt driver.
Try disconnecting the Camera from the USB port and reinstall
the software program. When the program asks you to connect the
camera to the USB port, do so and it should work.
Hope this helps. Bud
If when you have a new ipod and you connect it to a computer, if the first computer you connect it to is a mac, then that is the only type of pc it will work with after that. If you want it to connect it to a windows, you will have to restore it which will allow it to work with windows software. For some reason unknown, mac and windows have different loading software for the ipod and has to be re-installed with a restore before it can work with a different operating system. When it restores on your computer, check to make sure it has a strong internet connection. You should be able to restore after that.
This can be caused by several things. First plug up another USB device to that port. if it works you know your port is good. next hook up the camera and look in my computer for a extra drive letter. if you see on that is your camera. If nothing still see if you can hook it up to another persons computer to see if your cable and camera is ok. If the camera does work and none of these help out then it is a drivers issue. you will need to go into saft mode by hitting f8 when the pc first starts up goto option 3 safe mode now right click on my computer Icon and goto properties. Find device manager. in their click on hardware now find the USD devices and try to remove all of the usb listings once you have done that reboot the system the system will come up in normal mode. And start loading all of your usb devices again. Now hook up the camera and see if it works. If that does not work then in XP goto the system tools are in you accessories area. and choose system restore. choose the date closest to the last time it worked. Once you restore the system then hook up the camera again. This should work as long as all hardware is good.
