HI,

I have just replaced the battery on a similar phone today (not a BT one, but a "Payphone Link 20", its belgian counterpart).

It was a bit tricky as the battery is soldered on both sides of the circuit board, but the battery was replaced in a matter of minutes and the phone works fine now.

I wouldn't recommend this to the novice however. You need good soldering skills + equipment, and basic knowledge of how to handle a circuit board without damaging it (i.e. short circuit or electro-static discharge).

If you're not sure, I would advise you to get it done by someone familiar with electronics repair. Otherwise there are several companies that could fix it for you : you send them the front of the phone by mail, they replace the battery, clean and check the phone, and send it back to you.

No sound on magnavox 50mf412b

Check the speaker/s first. If found OK, check and replace damaged component/s at its audio output stage circuit. Check all the soldering terminals at this stage circuit, for any loose solder terminals. Re-solder all the suspected solder terminals, by applying a little more solder. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ Pull up older posts. Check the site in 'Mosaic' view. It will make search easy.

I have a 2001 nitro bass boat an i am replaceing my 12v tolling motor w. a 24v. i installed the 2d battery and am ready to connect the wires. There are 2 positive wires, 1 states "battery a"...

Is this a straight 24V system... not a 12v - 24v.Correct..
The best advice is use a 50-60 amp resettable breaker..with 6 gauge wire (minimum 8 gauge) ... make sure your connections are clean, tight, and greased to prevent corrosion. USE a BIG HEAVY "jumper" cable between the + and - terminals.

Here are several sites that explain what you need to know..
I went from a 12-24v to a straight 36v Motorguide on my 21ft triton.. WOW!!!! talk about BAD A$$!!
I use the felt washers under all battery connections and the battery spray liberally on each connection..

Fitting a new battery to a bt contour payphone

I have a bt contour 100 that had the same problem no dial tone and nothing on the screen this is easily fixed by soldering in a new battery or soldering in a battery holder / battery back that takes 3 aaa batteries in place of the old battery you may have to solder two separate wires into the positive side and one wire into the neutral side after the old battery has been removed once you have soldered two wires into the positive thoes two wires need to be connected to the positive side of the battery holder and the other single wire into the neutral side of the battery holder once done correctly when you have inserted 3 AAA batteries and reset the payphone it will start working again bare in mind when you reset the payphone the pin number will go back to its default setting you may have to contact bt payphone help desk to get the default pin if you don't already have it there is a company offering to convert the bt contour payphone to run on regular alkaline batteries which are easily replaced but getting it professionally converted would come at a cost you can easily do it yourself giving some basic knowledge of electrical wiring and some common sense. The payphone runs on a 3v dc lithium battery that costs £9.99 on some sites on the Internet I believe that you can also get it to work on a 3v DC adapter but I have not tested or tried running my payphone on a power adapter as converting it to run on aaa batteries is easier and quicker to replace

Bt contour 50 phone is completely dead. no display, dial tone. replaced cords Done all resets that manual say. not sure of water damage, but circuits and box all dry

Yeah, the internal battery is probably exhausted. You can replace it with a new one, which you can get on eBay, but you probably need to know how to solder it in

Shaver Replacement Battery AA NiMh type
NiMh shaver battery pack with easy solder tabs, dimensions of battery are 1 11/16 length x 9/16 diameter. Battery is 1650 mAhWill fits several older model Braun shavers, $9.99. Contact http://shaveroutlet.com/ for detailed info. Older model Braun shaver batteries don't come on a circuit board and involve soldering.

Since I have never dissembled this model ask Shaver Outlet via e-mail if you buy the parts from them. They have been most helpful to me.

Hi, Ive got a BT Contour 100 Payphone, but there is no dial tone or display. Cheers

You need to dismantle phone and replace Varta CR1/2AA 3Volt lithium battery. Dismantling is easy enough but you MUST lay out the screws etc so they go back in the right place, particularly the one with the two nylon washers underneath the head.
