I have 3 hanns g 28" monitors (HG 281D). they are 3 yrs old. All have devleoped the same problem. It's like a strobe light on the screen. I assume this is the backlight. other than that they have been great for what i use them for. i'd like to fix them if possible instead of replacing them. resolution is 1920x1200 and other 28" monitors with that resolution are expensive compared to what i paid for the hanns g, about $400 any suggestions?

First, flip the switch for your power surge protector, to see if that resolves. Then, test the monitor on another computer and see if it works. If the monitor still doesn't work, look for another one. Hope that helps.

You can adjust the screen resolution and this will affect the image size.
Go to Control Panel - Display - click on Settings tab, then adjust the screen resolution. Try 1024x768 first, and adjust up further as required.

install an AGP card into an AGP slot because internal display card does not support high resolution because of insufficient memory . use 8X AGP card for better result . then you can see high resolution ,3D games ,and movies .

i think one of your cables are loose of worn out like vga try another vga see what happens ok;

Go into monitor settings and turn "off" X-Contrast. X-Contrast will auto change contrast when backgrounds darkens. However, adjust manually the Brightness and Contrast settings to compensate.
