Bobbin Casing - CE150

I can not seem to get the bobbin casing back into the machine properly. My problem started with the thread building up under and around the bobbin, I had to take out the casing to clear the thread, now I can not get the casing back in. Please I need your help ASAP - I promised thsse shirts by 1:00 today. Is there a website that offers a service manual download for this machine?

Same problem- I took the casing out and thought I got it back in correctly, but now the problem is worse, the top thread catches on the casing and jams every time. I made sure that the projection is positioned against the spring as the manual says. Looking for help too.

Thank you for the help. The link at the Singer site is not working, but I will keep working with that. After doing a lot research yesterday I learned the major importance in maintaining this machine regularly. My husband went in and found some thread that I was unable to see from the top. Once he cleaned out the wayward thread and oiled the machine I was good to go again. This is a great machine but don't learn the hard way like I have, clean and oil your machine after every big project.

There is a website for support (http://futura-support.com/futuraMachine/manuals.htm), but together with your software you should already have that manual and other help materials, check under menu section Help.

Carmen, seem that you have carried out the necessary rectification, but could it be your rotary hook tip blunt/broken, if not most probably it needs needle/hook timing adjustment. And this will require your sewing machine technician to do it.

I own a "Lena" machine

Hello

Make sure your feeddogs are up. That is the little jagged looking plate under the pressure foot. There should be a setting on your machine that will move it up and down.

If they are up then the bobbin is not in correctly. If it is a normal round bobbin that fits in a bobbin case, hold the bobbin in front of you so that the thread end is on top and the thread is going away from you, and slide it into the bobbin case. Feed the thread through the right openings in the bobbin case. When you pull the thread end the bobbin should turn clockwise.

Never hand-wind bobbins. Instead, use the accompanying bobbin winder which is attached to most machines, bobbin casings must be oiled regularly to prevent problems with the bobbin turning properly. The bobbin, when inserted properly into the bobbin casing, should spin counter-clockwise when thread is pulled.

Check the way your machine is threaded. Completely un-thread your sewing machine and re-thread it. Remember to always thread your machine with the presser foot up.

Check the bobbin and be sure the bobbin is threaded correctly and that the bobbin case is correctly threaded. Be sure the bobbin is in the bobbin case in the correct direction.

Always watch for bobbin wear, especially on the plastic type of bobbins. If the edges of the plastic are showing abrasions, the size of the bobbin has changed and may be the culprit. Although the size change is minute, it allows the bobbin to wobble in the case and changes the tension.

Thread on bobbin looping

Sounds like you need to adjust the bobbin casing tension (tighten the little screw on the bobbin case). I would also oil the face of the bobbin casing so that the thread wont snag or tug on it at all.

The casing that the bobbin sits in is out how do I put it back in. The Bobbin holder below the tension feet is out and so is the bobbin how do I set it back in with out undoing the two latches on the side...

put the bobbin in its case then pull some thread out and pass it thru the bobbin case slot and under the tension spring .. put the bobbin and case over the shaft that is in the main unit .. the open side of the case goes in first .. make sure the bobbin doesnt fall out .. rotate the bobbin case until its finger lines up with the notch in the main case .. the bobbin case should latch in place on the shaft notch .. place the top thread under and to the back of the pressure foot then turn the machine one turn .. that will loop the top thread around the bottom (bobbin) thread ... now use a card or screwdriver to push both threads from under the pressure foot toward the back of the machine ..

The thread and bobbin are nesting up in the bobbin case

Two things I have found that make my singer ce-200 nest. 1st. When I change threads, sometimes I thread it wrong - always nests when I do that. 2nd. When the bobbin runs out of thread it always nests for me, so I have to check the bobbin often. And I remembered a 3rd thing. 3rd. The area for the bobbin & bobbin casing has to be clean, no pieces of threads, and the bobbin casing itself can move, so make sure it's seated correctly.Whenever I get nesting, I take the metal cover off, under the needle, to get in and clean the bobbin area and under the needle good, before I go back to embroidering.

Bernette sewing machine making a mess of thread on back of fabric

I once heard from a great sewing instructor that if the problem is on the back of the fabric then it is a spool to needle problem.... if the problem is on the top of the fabric, then it is a bobbin problem. Check your machine for dust and stray threads. Check your bobbin casing for dust and stray threads.
