When you say it has a router in it, you mean a receiver and you are trying to connect to the other pc without the means of an external router (network).

You need to set up the connection using windows wireless network wizard as you seem to be trying to connect 'adhoc', which is one pc to another.

It's too long a process to type here so use the wizard

also you need to check that both are on the same workgroup setting, this is found by right clicking my computer and then properties and computer name, as if they are'nt they cannot see each other.

I had to put my computer back to factory settings and now my Belkin wont go on wireless. It does work if i plug cable in.Is there anything i can do?

HI,
I see you set Windows back to defaults as you mentioned and now your Router will not go Wireless.
First Restoring Windows Back to Factory Defaults will not reset your Routers Settings to Defaults together with Windows.
So Most Probably the issue is since you restored windows back to factory defaults you may need to install the Wireless Driver again on the Machine / Computer to make your computers wireless card work again and be able to detect and connect to your Belkin Router.
try a difefernt device that can connect wireless to your Router or maybe a different Laptop to see if the Belkin is working fine wireless.
If any other Laptop will not detect the Belkin then try turning the Wireless Radio ON again in the Router Settings of Belkin.
But I suggest to check all your system drivers if installed for it to be wireless capable again on the issue, Restoring Windows back to Default will not change anything in the Belkin Router. I believe this is a Driver issue on the Wireless card of your Computer.
You mentioned the system does work if plugged in Wired right, check your drivers install every driver that needs to be installed from the Manufacturer Website of your Computer for proper and compatible drivers.
Have a nice day.

Belkin F6D4330 Router - No wireless connection. Cable connection to PC works. I have restarted the router. The laptops in the house are MACS - PC uses Windows 7. Worked fine for months. What should I try?

Ring up the service provider. I have a belkin server and I had the same problem.
You should have a phone number with your server in the box it came in. If not go onto http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/508
This should give you a local free number and from there they will give you free support on how to connect.

Hope I helped Dr Reed

Dont have cd to run for my laptop belkin f5d7234-4 v4 router what do i do to make it work with my laptop???

If this is the only computer that you are trying to connect then you will need to set up the router from the start.
If the router is already working and there are one or more computer online already then you just need to connect to the network on the laptop.
Is it a wireless laptop or it will be connected to the router with the cable ?

If it is wireless then you will need to connect to the wireless network.

I have installed Belkin N router onto my computer, however my laptop is not pickin the signal up and I cannot connect to the internet on the laptop just the computer

If you do not have an 'N' compatible wireless adapter in your laptop, make sure you set the Belkin to 'B/G' compatability mode. Also, the type of security if an older laptop is probably limmited to WPA-PSK, and you would need to set that up in the router as well. Extremely old laptop wireless adapters may be limmited to WEP, which is an old an unreliable security encryption.
