Digital camera says my SD card is pin protected

Hi there

Can you help please.

I downloaded some photos from my Lumix digital camera. Put the SD card back into the camera and it came up with an error message on the camera: SD Card Pin Protected.

Do you know how I can unprotect it please?

Many thanks

John

Hello

Have you looked at the card closely, there is a small switch at the side lock / unlock, try unlocking the card and the camera should be able to use it again.

Have your problem been solved? You could take out the SD card and use a SD card reader to transfer your photos into your laptop.

HOW DO i unlock Panasonic Lumix DMCFS42 Digital Camera? When I try to delete photos on camera is says memory card locked. I'm confused to how this even hapened.

SD type cards have a little switch on the card that can write protect or "lock" it. Take the card out of the camera and check this switch. To unlock it, it should be moved towards the edge of the card which has the electrical contacts.

Take a look at the memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

What do I do? It says... memory card is protected. I can't take photos or delete. :/

Some SD cards have a tiny "write protect" switch on the side. Might you have knowcked that? I would try taking the card out & seeing if you have one.

Otherwise, you can always look for the manual on the manufacturer's web site:

Card Error

If the memory card is not recognized in the PC or it is impossible to access the data on it, the controller on the card is damaged. There is only one way to get the data back, unsolder memory chips and directly access their raw data with a programable chip reader. Software can't help, that is a physical damage!
