You cannot, you said you have formated it, theres no going back, you will have to do a system backup using system tools in accesories

The windows operating system may be corrupted. Suggest you restore it as the simplest solution.
The Acer Aspire One has a hidden partition on its hard disk drive that contains installation images to restore the system's operating system, applications and drivers to the factory defaults. Press Alt and F10 key together while the Acer logo is displaying as the system is powering up. This should enter Acer eRecovery Management. Follow the onscreen instructions to do the recovery.

Hi.I have acer 5633 wlmi laptop. I had a lot of stuff stored in Acer PSD (personal secure disk) and it (windows vista) suddenly crashed. Now I have installed windows 7 and Acer e data security management...

All your stuff is stored on your D drive with hidden folder name HI TRUST DRIVE and in a file eDS_PSD_drive.vmdf. The HiTrustDrive holds Acers back-up data of your system, you should have made recovery discs from this when you first had the laptop. When making these discs you are asked to define a password, you will need the password to view the files, if you have forgotten it just boot to a linux live cd and you can view the password, it is stored in plain text on a hidden partition in the following file: /TOOLS/AIMDRS.DAT.

Just give it a try...

Remove windows from acer aspire 5100

I think you have dual Os on it i.e Win XP & Win Vista. So, I am sorry to say that you can not access the full factory restore from the recovery partion. At this point, I would suggest you to contact the Acer Technical Supprt and order for RCD (Recovery Disk) inorder to wipe everything from the computer or you can use a Disk Manager utility to wipe everything from the computer. You can visit the below link to download the software

My problem is that my lap top keeps crashing and its really slow when its on and i just want to reset everything delete absolutly everything on the computer and get it back to like it was just bought it...

What you need:
- Have the hidden partition previously unspoiled, at least working. It is usually called "PQSERVICE" without this you cannot use this guide
- os needed: Windows XP(should work with vista to) on a partition C:/ . c:/ also needs to have enough harddisk space to install your particular OS, for vista i suggest at least 10+ gig, xp 5gig+ (to be safe)
- I would think that PTEDIT32 is not supported by 64bit os's but if you find a similar program, please reply
- look through replies to this post for more tips!

[b]Supported by models:
- Aspire 5610 default os: Vista
- Acer 5101 with Win XP home.
- Look through other peoples postings for models supported.

1. Download: ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/englis...s/PTEDIT32.zip

2. Launch PTEDIT in WIN XP and change the partition that has a 12 in it's boot to 07. Save and exit. Restart PC

3. Search for mbrwrwin and rtmbr.bin and find them on F: (or at least i did, it is the hidden partition's driveletter. Copy both to c:

4. run cmd(command) and go to c: (use cd)

5. type this: mbrwrwin install rtmbr.bin

6. press enter, and let it do its stuff(this installs the alt+f10 option)

7. restart PC and press alt+f10 at post screen, or if you like me do not know what postscreen is, just press alt+f10 continuously from the first booting you see. If it don't work, make sure d2d recovery is enabled in bios

Factory recovery should begin and work perfectly.

But this proves that you can install a different OS on the computer and still get it back to factorydefault. My warranty says that the warranty gets broken if you install a different OS on the acer computer. But this installs all back to normal.

If you looked for a way to delete the partition, i guess the easiest way is to pop inn a windows XP installation cd and delete it from the XP setup.

Acer 5520 restore failed 0xa000000e

I got it to work by deleting all the partitions on my drive (I first loaded xp, loaded system commander 9, and used that to delete all the partitions.)

Then while booting from the recovery cd, holding down alt-f10, the recovery dialog said it was partitioning the drive. (I didn't see this before, even if I partitioned the drive like it came from the factory.)

Then the rest of the recovery worked.

Acer e-recovery problem

The e-recovery software is used to access the 10GB hidden partition on the original drive, for recovery. Therefore a new drive doesn't have the 10GB Backup files for the system. Since the hidden drive is not there, the software can't access the hidden partition, therefore, the software will not install because there is no need for it.

If you need more info, please e-mail me,

Thanks, Have a nice day!

D2d recovery

Send me an e-mail and I will send you the fix! If you can't downloadload it from the below link. I had the same problem. The mbr was replaced, you have to add RTMBR.BIN to the MBR and it will work again. As long as you can get on your desktop and run this bat file you will repair the D2D again. Took me an hour to learn what was wrong, It works 100% though.

I have the Aspire 5610Z with the 2GB 533 mhz memory Stock.
