If you look on the circuit board that the big black heat sink is attached to, there are two output amp chips (integrated circuits) attached to it. IC7 is the sub output amp. Next to that is a white jack with two pins sticking out, labeled J9. J9 is where you plug your sub into.

My Simmons SD9K will not save my drum settings? Any clues as to why it won't save anything?

I found this. It appears to have a motherboard battery that saves settings once powered down.

My SD9K brain module forgets/randomly changes the settings of the custom kits I create. Possibly an issue with the internal battery? If so, what type of battery is this and are they available?

Yes you would need to replace the CMOS button battery on the main board of the system.

And also this

You either have to hook your computer up to it or use the SD card or usb disk. You must leave it plugged into your computer to use the midi feature. You also must have a program that does midi. Or put it on a card or usb and use it that way. You must have it plugged in to the computer, card or usb to use it. You cannot save it to the brain.

I am trying to find the specs for the power LED for a Simmons DA200S amplifier.

Go to mouser.com an search for the LED that you are looking for. Color, diameter, clear, etc and you should have enough info to find something close to what you are looking for. The brightness and color may be a little off from the original but most will work. Note: If it has wire leads it is "through hole"(search in mouser for standard LED - through hole)
Good luck!

Simmons SD9K control panel only lights up

Mine and a whole lot of others did the same thing with the SD9K Simmons kit. I called Simmons, they sent me a new power cord...that obviously didn't work. Then they said to wait on a new drum module...that never came. It's been 2 years and now they say they have no records of ever talking to me or sending me the power cord!!! Horrible product, horrible customer service. Whatever you do...don't put any more money into Simmons...only go with Roland!! Trust me on this one!! Me and about 3 others I know waisted $900 on Simmons and we are all paying the price now. So, to answer your question, you need to buy a $300-$400 new module!! Ridiculous!

I have a Yamaha is 50m studio monitor. Is there any way to open the back of these something is rattling around inside a loose wire or something

you can either drop out the woofer by removing the screws holding it in or remove the back panel ( #2 phillips screwdriver ) those are the easiest ways into the cabinet.

On my peavey pro 15 neo speakers i don't know which wire is for what. What is the black, red, blue and yellow wires for?

black and red will goto 1 speaker. and blue/yellow to the other. typically red and yellow are + and black and blue are -. the crossover board might tell you which is which where they solder to it. but i'm pretty sure the black/red goto woofer. try hooking up both to woofer and listen to it. 1 way is going to sound horribly wrong lol. that will mean you hooked up the tweeter leads to the woofer. but DO NOT HOOK UP WOOFER LEADS TO TWEETER. thats why i say to do it on woofer.

Somehow have managed to remove wires from drivers (while trouble shooting svt 410 hlf cab) while not labeling them properly for reinstall. so far have not been able to locate a wiring diagram for inside...

Most schematics won't even have any colors listed... so let us have you try this:

Find a system ground someplace like the sleeve of a 1/4 inch jack... Using an ohmmeter check for continuity to the available wires that are disconnected. ASSUME that those showing a low resistance will go to the "-" terminals of the drivers. If you have say a black and red... expect that the black will be one of the grounds... often the red then will be the (+) of the woofer. If you have whites and yellow... OFten the white will also have continuity to ground and be the (-) for the tweeter and the yellow then to the (+). Now since your speaker has 4 woofers we need to be careful to wire then correctly to get the 4 ohm impedance of the cab. IF each woofer is 4 ohms impedance, then we need to wire them in series-parallel. The shell of input 1.4 inch jack will likely go to black wires... two of the speakers will have their (-) terminals connected to these. The tip of the 1/4 inch jack will probably connect to one or more red wires. These will connect to the (+) terminals of the OTHER TWO woofers. Next one of the available (-) with no connections will tie to the (+) terminal of one of the first two woofers. SImilarly the remaining (-) terminal of one of the woofers will tie to the last (+) terminal that is vacant. Note the + of the horn will tie probably to the High level pot and this will tie to the crossover someway.
Here is a site with general schematics.

Need to find out which is the proper speaker wires for hook up yellow to tweeter or sub? And striped one is positive or negative?

You can probably trace which colors go to the smaller of the amps... Yellow is often used for tweeter but there really is no standard. Striped wire is probably the minus lead. If a pair is heavier, that would be the pair for the woofer... and red is often positive for woofer and black the minus. Searching the Mackie schematics doesn't really show colors. You could call their service dept.

Run a sub woofer to a peavey board

I would recommend using a separate active crossover such as the Peavey 23XO and a separate amp for your subs.
