Bootcode - hanaro1

I have a Samsung sp0822n (80 GB) hard drive as my Master drive
this drive is not getting recognized in the BIOS -- It shows up as Bootcode - Hanaro1 in the BIOS .. no other details (Size, PIO, DMA etc.,) are detected.
I have around 40 gb worth of data on the drive that needs to be salvaged. Any help is appreciated

My Samsung SP0822N 80GB hard disc is not being detected both when there is no jumper (slave) as well as when there is a jumper connected vertically at the FRC end (master). It is connected to the PC via an...

If you have a spare USB cable try that.
If it still doesn't get detected, try it on a different computer.

I would like to ask if you are using a HDD enclosure? If you are, then try using a different one if you or a friend have a spare.

Otherwise it just points to hardware failure.

I am trying to put western digital IDE hard disk onto dell latitude. What is the jumper setting to make it master

Here is a pdf that might help u with ur problema. Hard drives always come with a legend attached to it that says the correct pin setting to make it slave and master, should look at it first, if u dont have it look at the pdf.

DiamondMax 21 80-GB ATA/100 Hard Drive didn't get recognized as 1st drive or 2,3. do i need any software.

Use a partition manager to see if the drive is recognized. If it is not recognized, you may not have the jumper setting correct. If it is a master drive, set the jumper for master drive. same for slave or cable select

My bios see hard but ??

it sounds like its not getting enough power you might have to get a different harddrive or another power supply, if thats not it then its a problem with the harddrive itself.
