Hi That means the pump needs to be primed by running water through the wand. Push the water button for water(the drop symbol) You will hear the pump change tone when it primes and the light or message will disappear. If you have a restriction in the intake line the message will not go away. There is a flow meter inside the machine that measures water flow. If the flow meter does not spin when the pump is running, the computer thinks that the pump is not primed. Ventilate
"Ventilate" simply means that there is an air pocket caught in the
system and running water through it can fix the problem. When the
ventilate message appears, you will need to run hot water through your
steam/hot water wand as if you were going to fill your cup with hot
water. If the message does not go away after doing so, you will have to
run hot water through your wand continuously into an empty container
(emptying one full water reservoir if not more). Once your display
screen reads "Select Product, ready for use," you will be ready to brew
delicious coffee again.
It means you have an airlock in the water system. It can occur when you refill the water tank also.
Quite often you can run the hot water nossle untill the airlock clears. You will hear it splatter and then it should be sweet to go.
Ventilate just means that the system has senced a lack of water flow and shut down.
Push the button to have water come out the wand and that should reprime the unit.
If however no water comes out and the message stays on then you have another problem
If water does come out but the message stays on then you have another problem.
If in either of these cases you should google "saeco repair" and send it to an authorized saeco repair center to have it fixed.
