Problem installing the driver

I'm having a problem installing the driver for my pc cam 550. I still have the original cd but windows xp pro keeps popping this message that the hardware(creative pc cam 550) has not passed Windows logo testing to verify its compatibility with windows xp. And even if I clicked install anyway, windows will install but would repeatedly pop the window that say new hardware found. Anybody else having this kind of problem. And yeah I installed all the latest updates from microsoft.

Re: Problem installing the driver

Mine did the same thing - just ignore it and click ok - it will work believe me - just do it and it'll work.

Re: Problem installing the driver

1. Do NOT connect your webcam to your PC 2. Turn on your computer 2. Install Driver and software you want to use Windows will pop up you several times, always click YES AND locate every time the location of your PC CAM driver on your Installation CD 3. Reboot 4. Plug your PC CAM

Can not transfer pictures from sd 550 to new windows 7 computer

I as well couldn't find Windows Seven 64 bit specific drivers. But under Whit's in the box, it shows a CD If their are any drivers on it hopefully XP Pro 64 bit Vista 64 bit you can try installing them in compatibility mode.

Simply download the driver to your desktop>right click on the setup.exe file>properties? compatibility.check the box Vista or XP> drop down menu select either of the 2 and run as Administrator.

Usually Windows will automatically install the needed drivers once you have plugged in the device and turned it on.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I'll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

Thank you for using Fixya, and have a nice day.

Can't use VPC-CG9 as PC camera.

I don't know why this wouldn't work on Vista HP, but this excerpt from the manual suggests that your XP SP1 Pro would not work without the SP2 rollup:

"Please perform the following upgrades before connecting the camera to a computer.
-Upgrade Windows XP to SP2.
Install Windows XP SP2.
-Install Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version.
Download Windows Messenger 5.0 or later version, and install it.
-If using MSN Messenger, please install MSN Messenger 7.0 or later
version."

Perhaps if you are following the steps exactly in the manual and it still does not work, upgrading Messenger will magically help.

I have a sont dcr trv120e cam corder .. when i plug it in pc nothing happens :(

Hello,
Please install software "Picture Package" CD came with camera. Connect USB cable to camera and other end of cable to PC. Windows XP or Vista will recognize it and install its drivers automatically. If camera is not recognized by Windows, go to camera Menu, enable USB Streaming and check. Hope info will help you.

How to download the picture from camera to computer?

Get the right size of USB cord (the end that goes to the cam come in different sizes, so take note of that - i.e., the cam USB port are dfferent sizes).
For a Mac, I don't know. For Windows XP, it should show up as a drive in "My Computer." Vista may have drivers for it, so it could show up as a drives. Either way, you may have the original driver CD that came with the camera. You may try that if you have Windows XP. Windows Vista may give you some trouble.
