I have a 1994 GMC Jimmy 4.3 vortec 4x4 automatic, and the transmission started to slip, then the battery died, we got it home and it wouldn't start, so we charged the battery and it ran fine for abou

You may potentially have an serious electrical drain in your car circuits. The drain is slow and continuous, draining your battery charge even if you do a start. Check the cabling and look for load on your battery with a Volt meter to check for any charge drainage. Check this as a precaution before replacing any more parts.

99 jeep grand Cherokee limited. Have checked everything. Battery drains with in a few hours. Had battery checked. It's good. Nothing left on. What else do I need to check

Have your alternator checked. If you have lost a diode inside of the alternator, it can still charge, but will be a direct short to ground and zap the battery in no time.

I have lots of water on passfloor carpet soaked 1996 jeep gc 4x4 what can it be

I'm not sure where the drain hose is but its lower than the floor.
There should be a hose or tube sticking out of the floor or the firewall on the passenger side that drains the ac evaporator.
If the tube is clear, the bottom of the HVAC housing could be blocked.

Hello, I have a 1986 Jeep Comanche, 4 cylinder 4x4 5 speed that i just bought used. The battery is brand new, same with cap rotor wires and the alternator i just bought. the jeep kept draining the battery...

If you mean it is going dead while sitting you might have a short or another issue drawing power from the battery. take your truck to your local battery warehouse/store the should have a meter thet will tell you if something is drawing on your system. It could be something simple, like maybe the mercury switch on your under hood light is bad and the light is not turning off thus running your battery dead over night.

check the voltage on the battery with a volt meter, it should be around 12.6 to 13 volts, if not charge battery with a charger, after charge try to start vehicle, if the vehicle starts use your volt meter at the battery again, the voltage should be around 14 to 14.5 any lower and the battery isn't being charged and the alternator should be checked and or replaced to solve the problem..

The battery on my grand cherokee goes completely dead while parked.has new battery and alternator. Had checked at parts store and both are working. Battery checks out too. What could be pulling it down?

Do you have an alarm? It's common for them to pull too much current and drain the battery. Also look for lights such as dome lights or brake lights stuck on that could drain the battery. Are all the wires to the alternator and battery connected?

Battery goes dead while driving ck out put on alt ok at the time replaced computer same thing also it may start working ck all elect connection 2000 4x4 jeep cherokee

Hello. If your battery is not charging while driving, often it is due to low or bad voltage from your voltage regulator, which is also in the Alternator usually on these vehicles. Your engine has been running off the battery only and draining it, not using the alternator's power. Here are some things to look for and a question for clarification:

If you actually replaced the alternator already your regulator should be good. But to clarify your problem report, did you replace the alternator or only check it? It may take several checks while truck is running to catch the problem. If you have not done so already you will need to verify that voltage (13.9 volts or more) is actually reaching right to your battery. 12Volts will not be enough, that means something is wrong and is just battery volts. Please do this test while your Jeep is running, with lights on. DC volts across the battery need to be about 14 Volts while all is on. If you don't get that either the Alternator/VR is bad OR bad connection to it.
