It could be a few things like dust on your lens when you took an auto picture and it could have blown off from movement make sure your lens is clean, check your lens settings on the side if it is on the flower its for close up pictures and if its on the trees its for further away pictures so make sure its on the correct setting also pc cams only have digital zoom so if you zoom in it may appear to be blurry because it only zooms in on the picture which is made up of pixels as opposed to an optical lens which zooms in on the actual object so its not as blurry also check your menu settings mabey you messed something up, also remember to keep the camera still when taking pictures they are not that advanced. and if non of that works just use manual.

You did not say which lens or lenses you are using, but most auto-focus lenses have a switch for selecting manual or auto-focus. First, check your camera's menu settings to make sure auto-focus is enabled and then your lens to make sure you did not accidently leave it in the manual focus position? If it is in the auto-focus position and still not taking sharp pictures, switch it to manual and see if you can get it to focus correctly. It is also possible that your auto-focus alignment is out because your camera was bumped, jolted or dropped. If realignment is necessary, you can send the camera and lens to Nikon for repair or find a knowledgeable camera repairman.

The auto-focus might be bad. Set to manual focus and see if that works. If not, then the focus motor is slipping or the motor itself is bad and cannot focus the lens properly.

Sony Cyber-shot takes lots of blurry pictures in

first thing you can do is to try reverting cam back to factory settings.to do that initialize the camera.it's under menu>setup settings>main settings1>initialize. after initializing, set cam to auto adjustment mode (green camera icon in mode dial). what to avoid when taking pictures:
1.subject too close (use macro if needed)
2.insufficient light
3.subject movement
4.camera movement (that's caused by you)
5.incorrect camera setting
5.incorrect camera operation
btw, before you take a picture, press the shutter button halfway down first to give the cam ample time to focus.you'll see a flashing green indicator on the screen that means cam is focusing.when the indicator stops blinking cam is ready for the shot.press shutter button all the way.review your picture.if still blurry, you may try changing iso (for dark or fast moving subject, note:the greater value the noisier the picture gets), metering mode and focus settings by going to the shooting menu (press menu when your in P or program mode). hope this helps.tnx:)

Blurry action pictures

The sport setting uses a faster shutter speed to stop motion. However, if you have the ISO set to a low number and try to take action shots in dim light, they will be blurry. Either use auto ISO or use a higher number such as 400 or 800.

Sony Cyber-shot Digicams - Picture Quality !?!?!?

I'm assuming you purchased a Sony as replacement. If that's the case, take it back and ask for a new one or have it checked out. Something sounds horribly wrong to me. If by chance you got one of those Chinese/Taiwanese cameras. Give it away and go back to the P72. Of course, a few hours reading the manual and playing with the camera may solve your problems. Don't try to get fancy first off. Stick with Auto modes until you get a feel for what you're doing. If you are using Auto the go back to the first sentence :-) BMW
