Question about Acer AL1717 17" LCD Monitor
I have found a solution. when this is happening press the menu button rappidly. the on/off will occur still but after a few tries the monitor will stay on but you will have to repeat this if the monitor turns off. it seems to stay on when your system goes into stand by

One of 2 possibilities come to mind.
1, The vga chord is loose on the back of the monitor.
2, Your resolution is set too high or low to be displayed.
The blinking light means that the monitor is either not getting or understanding a signal.
