I have a compaq ipaq 3850. I can record voice notes and move them to my desktop via activesync into outlook. When I email them as attachment however, the receiving party can not open and listen to the file. Is there some way I can permit the email receiver to be able to open the voice file or a way I can convert the ipaq note voice file to a more accessible format such as .wav?
I use MP3 Voice Recorder v1.21 on my ipaq WinMobile2003. Very configurable, creates high or low quality mp3s which may be attached, moved, burned on CDs or sent on floppies even. And, it's free.

You can wirelessly connect to your personal computer using an infrared connection.
You can physically connect your iPAQ Pocket PC to your personal computer using Microsoft ActiveSync and a USB cable.
You must have Microsoft Outlook to operate your iPAQ Pocket PC using Microsoft ActiveSync on your computer. If you do not have Outlook, install the Microsoft Outlook software from the HP iPAQ Pocket PC Companion CD.
Microsoft Outlook Express will not work with the iPAQ Pocket PC and ActiveSync.
In order to sync your iPAQ with Windows XP or earlier, you will need to download and install Windows Microsoft ActiveSync 4.5 from:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/activesync-download.mspx. Notes: •You can use ActiveSync 4.5 only with phones that run Windows Mobile 2003 or later versions. ActiveSync and Windows Mobile Device Center won’t work with Windows Embedded CE 4.2 or 5.0, Pocket PC 2002, or Smartphone 2002 phones. (To see which Windows Mobile operating system you’re using, if your phone doesn’t have a touch screen, click Start > Settings > About. If your phone has a touch screen, click Start > Settings > System tab > About.) To sync information to any of these phones, you must use a USB or serial cable and your computer’s Internet connection and File Explorer. •You must use Microsoft Outlook 2002, Outlook 2003, or Office Outlook 2007 to sync your e-mail, contacts, tasks, and notes from your computer. Download and install ActiveSync: 1.Click the download link on this page, and then click Continue. 2.Select whether you want to register for the Windows Mobile newsletter, and then click Continue. 3.Click Download files below, and then click Download (next to the Setup.msi file). 4.In the File Download dialog box, click Run. 5.Follow the instructions in the Installation Wizard to install ActiveSync. Note:You must use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer the first time you use ActiveSync to synchronize information.
Set it up with what? Do you mean sync with your computer? Are you using USB or Bluetooth?
Best thing to do.
1. Unplug your USB connection from PPC -> Computer 2. Uninstall Activesync if you have it installed 3. Restart your computer 4. Re-install activesync 5. Restart your PPC 6. When asked to connect the PPC connect it via USB
I have bluetooth Activesync working on my hw6515 connected to a Dell x300. Followed the instructions in the User Guide Chapter 9. Need to take note of the com port assigned to bluetooth serial port on the PC.
Connection must be initiated each time from the IPAQ ie go to buetooth manager and connect the activesync shortcut.
