Sorry guys, Here's something else, I figured out how to set up the password, but when I do, my connection dies dramatically, restarting the router constantly and when playing PC games online they lag horribly.

I am using Windows XP, D-Link router WBR-2310 Revision: A1

  • i have only one Laptop at home . Can we still go Wirless with D-Link WBR-1310 .If yes how should i do that . Also i need help in Configuring my wireless network as Secured Network which is not hapening !!

I can not get my XBox 360 to recognize a LAN connecting via the D-Link WBR-13130. There was not problem when I used my other router - - same LAN connection, but now I can't get onto XBox Live.

I've been on help desk with XBox and DLink several times each. It seems like everything is enabled, DMZ direct IP address for the XBox 192.168.0.99, opened up UDP ports, etc etc etc and nothing.

Any help or assistance? other ideas?

    thanks,

Assuming you ahve windows XP or a lower version of windows installed
Click on start >> RUN >> type CMD
In the command prompt box type IPCONFIG. You'll get the ip address and default gateway. Note the default gateway. Open Internet Explorer and type the default gateway in the address bar and hit enter. you'll be prompted for a user name and password. Check router documentation for a default login name and password. Browse through the option to set the password. Would be hepful if you give the operating system and router model name.

default login name and password is. Admin and password.

once logged in click on Wireless Settings >>

Wireless Security Mode : and select security type you want.

I pressed the reset button on my router WNDR3400 now i dont have any internet acess. help please

Your wireless router has reset back to default settings. You need to access the GUI of your router to retrieve your wireless info. Connect 1 PC to the router using an ethernet cable. Once you have internet access, open your browser and type in on the address bar 192.168.1.1 to access the GUI. If it doesn't work, try http://www.routerlogin.net. Use "admin" for the username and "password" for the password. Once your logged in, go to the wireless settings and check for the details of your wireless connection.

I need to secure my internet access.

to secure your internet connection, you need to put up a wireless security. to do that, you need to go to your router's configuration page by typing on your browser's address bar your gateway address.
b94ba8d.jpg

when you do that, you should be able to see your router's config page. login using Admin as username and no password. click wireless:

select you wireless security mode:

lastly, specify your wireless password:

b4e9f4d.jpg

then save you settings. please note that WPA2 is just my preference.

to connect to your wireless network, specify on your wireless device your network name and password.

hope it helps.
