Lexmark x8350 - Scan Was Not Successful Message

Whenever I try to scan, I get a "Scan Was Not Successful" message. I have checked all the cables, uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, and plugged the printer directly into the outlet (not using a surge protector). I can print using this printer with no problem.

    I have the exact same problem. It seems to be a new thing. I never had this problem before.

    P6250. Same problem. I can Copy and Print, but cannot scan.
    Seems communication is blocked for scanning...

Well, on the behalf of you I have contacted Lexmark support and gathered information on this issue. I am glad to inform you that I found the solution for you!!!

To resolve the issue you need to install Full Version software for Printer, here is below link where you need to download and install it.

NOTE : DOWNLOAD IS FOR WINDOWS XP

1. Once if you open the page, please click on cjb2300EN.exe. then follow below steps further....
2. On the "File Download" screen, choose "Save."
3. The next screen will be titled "Save As." Choose to "Save in Desktop" and click "OK."
4. You should see files being transferred.
****Note**** If your browser uses a different file downloading format than specified above, you will need to resort to your browsers help files for downloading instructions. The object of steps 1 - 4 is to download the driver to your desktop. This way it is easily accessible.
5. Once the files have completed downloading, double click on the icon with your file name.
6. On the "Win Zip Self-Extractor" screen click "OK."
7. To unzip the downloaded file choose "Unzip."
8. A screen will then display the number of files unzipped successfully, click "OK."

hi.

maybe the usb cable went completely, you can try to replace it with another, also Ive heard lexmark power supplies can go bad without notice, can you copy standalone with it? you should. if not then check power output with a multimeter. Is your new dell running on vista? you may have to download a driver specific for vista and lexmark from lexmark website NOT the XP driver the VISTA driver, I had to do that with mine. just a couple ideas. good luck

I fixed this by completely uninstalling the Lexmark software, then unplugging the USB and restarting. I then installed the new Lexmark software that I downloaded from their site, make sure not to plug the USB back in until it told me to. It then detected the printer properly and started working.

The USB cable would be the standard A/B cable. the port on the back of the printer, is located under the phone line jack. Open the attached URL for the setup guide.

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X8350 Driver on your computer. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.
The Lexmark X8350 printer does not come with a USB cable (to connect the device to your computer). You'll have to provide your own cable. You may contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

I keep getting the message "unsupported right cartridge" on my printer. I have checked the installation a thousand times. Please help


Message signals that the right cartridge is not correctly recognized.
May have several causes:
1. Cartridge model is wrong (not a Lexmark color cartridge 33 or 35). In this case one must replace the cartridge with the printer.
2.
You use the correct cartridge but it is not recognized correctly. Try to clean the contacts on the cartridge and the printer with a soft towel or cloth.
3. If after you have cleaned the contacts you received the same message means that the cartridge is defective and must replace it with a new one.

Ocr software for lexmark x8350


The Lexmark OCR scan software can only be installed using the install disc that came with your Lexmark printer. If you lost it, I'd suggest you contact Lexmark technical support for assistance.

Lexmark x2580 freezes up halfway through scan. Running Windows Vista home premium (32 bit). I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, unplugged everything and restarted it but still the problem...


Vista has issues with this printer. there is an updated driver, but if money is not a concern the best solution is to either upgrade to Windows 7 or downgrade to XP. 3rd party vendors have all but stopped patching Vista drivers since Windows 7 came out.

No Scanner Communication

Please can you do the folowing and let me know:
Go to start >> run >> type in

devmgmt.msc

click on ok.

On the devise manager window click on

On the devise manager window click on the + sign before display adaptor ...check if there is any

yellow exclamation or question mark ...right click update driver

Let me know if there is any Flag in the Device manger entries.
