Hi Yvette:

Pop onto my user name and look for your 6110 model under my solutions. I addressed a couple solutions for your machine. Start with the carriage socket one first to see if its damaged. 2nd remove the battery and final upgate the firmware.

All of the solutions are too lengthy to retype and re-post all the photos. They solve most of the electronic issues and are worth saving even if the don't work at resolving your current issues.

If the above doesn't solve it, let me know and I'll see if I can dig you up a solution.

I'm just a veteran tech (printer repair company owner) helping people out in my spare time. Kinda like giving back a little to an industry that has given so much to me.

I have changed out my black ink cartridge and now it says Attention: Print head loose, missing or not installed correctly.

Had exactly the same issue - working fine until ink cartridge changed (kodak for kodak - not a copy). Then can only get 'print head error message'.
Multiple attempts to remove and re-install, power on/off etc. but can't shift the error message. New print head more expensive than a new printer!

HP Inkjet cartridges HP 56 black cartridge (19 ml) HP 57 tri-color cartridge (17 ml) HP 28 tri-color cartridge (8 ml) Replacing the ink cartridgesThe power must be turned ON to the all-in-one or the print carriage will not move to the right.

  2. Press down gently on the top of the old ink cartridge to release it from the print carriage. Figure 2: Removing an ink cartridgec00121090.jpg
  3. Remove the new print cartridge from its packaging and remove the protective tape from the cartridge as shown in Figure 3. Do not touch the gold-colored contacts. Figure 3: Removing the cartridge tapec00121091.jpg
  4. Holding the ink cartridge with the printed label up, slide the cartridges one at a time into the print carriage and press them into position as shown in Figure 4. If the cartridge does not snap easily into position, it is not aligned correctly. Remove the cartridge and reposition it. Do not try to force the cartridge into position. The black ink cartridge (HP #56) goes on the right side and the color cartridge (HP #57 or HP #28) goes on the left side. Close the ink cartridge access door when the ink cartridge has been installed. Figure 4: Installing the ink cartridgesc00121092.jpg
  5. A message will appear on the front panel requesting that the ink cartridges be aligned. Follow the steps below to align the ink cartridges:
    1. Press Enter on the all-in-one front panel to start the ink cartridge alignment process.
    2. After the Alignment page prints, place the page into the ADF upside down and with the printed side down as is shown in Figure 5.
    3. Press Enter. The all-in-one will scan the alignment page and finish aligning the cartridges.

Correcting error messages that appear after changing a cartridgeAfter inserting the cartridge, the Check Print Cartridge light flashes or one of the following messages appears on the computer monitor:
  • Check the black (or color) cartridge
  • Replace the black (or color) cartridge
  • The wrong black (or color) cartridge is installed
These messages indicate that the ink cartridge is not making good electrical contact, is bad, or is the wrong cartridge. Complete the following steps to diagnose and correct the condition:
  1. Open the front of the unit to access the print cartridges (as shown in Figure 1).
  2. Remove the ink cartridge and inspect it.
  3. Verify that it is the correct part number and if it is, reinsert it.
  4. Close the lid to see if the problem is corrected.
  5. If the message is still displayed after a few seconds, remove the ink cartridge again.
  6. Unplug the power cord from the back of the unit.
  7. Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridge with a soft clean cloth slightly dampened (not wet) with clean water. (See Figure 6) Each contact is very small and shaped like a rounded square. Figure 6: Cleaning the cartridge contactsc00121094.jpg
  8. Allow the ink cartridge to dry for a few minutes before reinserting the cartridge(s) and turning on the printer.
  9. If the problem remains, replace the ink cartridge.
  10. If the problem still exists after trying all of the steps above, the unit may need to be serviced. Contact HP for further troubleshooting or to arrange to have the unit serviced.
Make sure what ur using isn't a refilled cartridge and if it is check the expiration date, if nothing is wrong then you need to get urself a new printer or an upgrade so call up hp at 1800-474-6836 and get help of them, they'll guide you to a new /upgrade printer.
it's not a nice way of saying it but someone has to give you the bad news

The tank 3eBK black do not print

olofossonbygg,
Looks to me like an air lock in the system.

Have you just changed the black cartridge because of an error message and did it print up to the point where you just changed it?
Just replacing the cartridge with a new on can sometimes lead to an air lock in the small ink feed system.
Does your cartridge have the writing head at the bottom or is it just an ink tank, in which case it could defiantly be an air lock.
Try a cleaning cycle, and leave the printer for a few hours to stand and let the air lock escape naturally. Running loads of cleaning cycles will use a lot of ink, so don't be too hasty.

HP C6280 Error: Ink Cartridges Empty

I want to print in black only and have changed the properties to grayscale, but it still won't let me print in black only. The magenta is out and it says I must replace, but i don't want color! help!

Ink

  1. Buy only genuine Dell replacement cartridges. Dell states their printer cartridges cannot be refilled with ink and that only their cartridges work in the printer.
  2. Bring the cartridge carrier of the printer to the center so you can access the ink cartridges. Open the cover of the printer and the carrier slides to the center. Make sure the printer is turned on.
  3. Remove the old black ink cartridge to use the color cartridge. If you allow the old black cartridge to remain in the printer, you will get error messages that the ink is low. The printer may also keep reverting back to the black ink as the default color when printing.
  4. Open the package of the new color cartridge carefully. Remove any blue packing tape that's on the ink cartridge. Take care not to touch the gold area or you could damage the cartridge. Insert the new color cartridge into the correct slot in the printer, the right side of the cartridge carrier. The ink cartridges aren't interchangeable; they need to be placed in the correct slot.
  5. Close the cover on your printer after installing the color cartridge. Run a print test to make sure the color cartridge is installed correctly. Use the Dell Ink Management System to monitor your printer and all-in-one functions. Thanks Thiru

Have changed Ink Black and Colour... Stil getting error Message.

Make sure the tape covering the hole on the bottom of the black cartridge is removed. and then go into the printers folder and right click on your printer icon and go into the properties of that printer and there should be something in there to tell it that you changed cartridges and you can also print a test page as well.
