HP Deskjet 9800--when i try to print, it doesn't. When I click on the printer icon, it shows that the printer is offline, but it is not.

Hi,

Disconnect the power cord from back of printer ( printer must be powered on ) and wait for 30 secs. Connect it back.

Try to print. If it still does not print, click on the link below and follow the instructions to resolve your issue.

Key is flashing. Internet blue light is on. Printer gets signal for print job but won't print until I USB connect it to my Macbook OS 10.6.

Hi,

Follow the steps below to resolve the issue

The print queue and Dock printer icon
When you start a print job, you will see your printer icon appear in your Dock. Click the Printer icon to open the print queue, which is a list of print jobs that are printing, on hold, or paused. The print queue will also display messages sent from the printer.
You can alternatively open the print queue from the Print & Fax pane of System Preferences.

  1. Delete - Deletes the selected print job.
  2. Hold / Resume - Will hold / resume the selected print job.
  3. Job Info - Shows details of the selected print job, such as job name, status, Completed, Job Message, and so forth.

You can see what your print job looks like with Quick Look. Click the arrow on the print job just to the left of the Status column or select the print job and press the Spacebar.
From the Print Queue menu bar, the "Printer" menu has these additional options:
  1. Customize Toolbar... - Used to add and remove item from the Print Queue's toolbar.

Cancelled a job and it stays in queue

Cancel all the documents in the print queue, (just do it whether they are actually deleted or not), press "cancel" on button the printer and restart your system and also the printer. If possible, please leave the printer switched off for few minutes and don't forget to use the "Power" button to turn if off or on. This will help your printer to restart new print job, all the jobs on the print queue will be deleted/cleared. Good luck, Thanks for using FixYa.

My Deskjet 5740 has Resume light blinking, all other lights off. Will not print. Won't let me cancel printer queue. If I push the Resume button, the printer feeds a sheet and halfway through the next...

Sounds like it is expecting a different size paper than you have in it. In the item that you are trying to print confirm the page size. If it is a document that you download or someone sent you it could be in a different page size. To cancel it you will likely have to go into the printer settings and delete it from there then power off the printer and power it back on, this should clear the job. Windows will keep trying to print the job until it is successful or deleted. To see the print jobs double click on the printer icon then just highlight and delete it.

HP 2015 Printer not printing as a shared printer

Hi Ronmur,
Few checks...
1. Is there sufficient diskspace for to queue print jobs?
2. There a corrupted print job that is holding the queue. Find the which application on which computer sent the print job. Send it again to see if it holds up the print queue.
