When I turn the tv on it goes off. I have tried pulling the plug, wait a few minutes, plug it in and then turnit on. This worked initially but not anymore.

Sorry but my TV is not a rear projecion TV. It is an HD LCD TV. It's a 32" Wide-Screen AKAI brand, model LCT3201AD

Often this is due to a problem with power adapter.
Less frequently it is an internal overheating problem or an other internal fault.

Here is powe radapter for $67:

Sir,

Maybe your TVs are getting overheated, so my best guess would be that it's the power in your flat. i suggest buying yourself a surge protector and plugging your electronics into that.

thanks
good luck

Well, have you had a look at the capacitors on your tv. They are probably bad especially if they look like they are swelling. As soon as they swell up, your tv stops working. Simple as that

I never said that it was a projection tv. Basically all electronics have capacitors and if you choose not to pursue the option of checking them, then I can't help you because I need you to help narrow down the problem with my guidance

Wont turn on

Unplug the power cord, wait a few minutes then plug it back in and check for a loose connection where the cord attaches to the TV. If it won't turn on after that, it's time to use the warranty.

Troubleshooting con

Make sure that the power cord is plugged in and press Power on the TV and/or remote. Make sure that the correct video input source is selected (HDMI 2, etc). Try another channel; the station may be experiencing problems.

You can also try power cycling the TV, by turning it off & unplugging it for a few minutes. Plug it back in, turn it on and restore settings back to factory defaults. If issues still persist, I would recommend pursuing repairs.

Tv will not power up

Press the TV button or ON/OFF button while remote is in TV mode and there's a source of power to the outlet or outlet strip.

Make sure the TV is plugged in.

You might have tried to turn on the TV during the lamp cool-down. Wait a few moments and the picture will appear.

Has the power light on the front of the TV been blinking for one minute? If so, the lamp may be dead. Refer to the Power indicator
is blinking or flashing section below for more information.

When you first plug your TV into an outlet, the Power indicator on the front panel will light and blink for approximately 30 seconds
and then go off during the initialization of the TV. This happens only when the TV is unplugged and plugged back in. The TV can
only be turned on after the Power indicator goes off.

Check the wall receptacle (or extension cord) to make sure it is "live" by plugging in something else, such as a lamp.

Something might be wrong with your remote control. Press the POWER button on the front of the TV. If the TV turns on, check the
remote control solutions on page 53.

Multiple TV Setup might be set to the wrong option. Press MENU/OK on the front panel. Select Setup Options, then Advanced
Options, then Multiple TV Setup. Choose TV (default).

Trouble changing device

Your problem may be solved by re-initializing the set. With the tv on use the remote and push MENU,2,1,7,0. A display will come up. Use the up down arrows on the remote to select INITIAL and press the enter key on the remote. That should do it.

Picture goes off

A temporary solution is to unplug the TV for a few minutes, remove static from the glass with your hand. It is important to unplug rather than turn off. If you have a degauss button you can also press that before unplugging. Wait several minutes or an hour. Then plug it back in. If you have Picture in Picture it may be an issue with that and to permanently solve may need a repair person. The unplugging may get you by for a few days at a time. That's at least better than an hour.

RCA HDTV model#HD52W59. When I turn the power on it stays on for a few seconds and then goes off by itself.

TV turns off unexpectedly
• Sleep timer may have been activated.
• Electronic protection circuit may have been activated because of a power surge. Wait 30 seconds and then turn on again. If this
happens frequently, the voltage in your house may be abnormally high or low.
• Unplug the TV. Wait ten minutes. Then, plug the TV in again.

Sony TV power and volume not working

Since remote does not work, try taking out batt and turning on by set. See if still turns up. It could be that the up button is jammed inside set. Does everything else works? See if you can go to menu and turn speakers off, this will allow you to work on set and not worry about noise.
