If you have lost three devices I'm sure you had ALL your computer devices on a UPS/Surge protector? Always connect ALL computer devices to a Power strip, UPS, or even better, unplug or switch off when not in use. A power strip with Surge Protection will help, most have a power switch/ Circut Breaker, to shut down ALL devices connected when not in use.

I strongly suggest getting a new battery for your laptop. The cause of your problem may have been caused my an electrical storm or power surge or simply mishandling of the laptop.

A replacement power battery should cost about $200 if you shop around. Call your manufacturer, you may be covered by the warranty!

First, this may be an issue of old battery. The m35 is a rather old model, so it's no wonder if the battery fails to load at all. Second, your laptop may be suffering from the Maxim chip problem. During the time of m35, a lot of other laptops had this same problem with this Maxim chip that caused all kinds of weird problems with both Toshiba and HP models such as the m30, m35, m115, A65, A75 etc, and the HP NC6000, NC7000 and NC9000 series. This problem usually occurs if your laptop undergoes any shock or it falls.
