My dyson dc25 won't lock in the upright position

The DC25 Animal has a design flaw where part of the Duct Assembly (main part of the vacuum) where the Red lock bar goes over breaks off the Duct Assembly and it causes the DC25 to not be able to stand up normally. There is a short Youtube video describing this flaw.

Unfortunately, you can repair this except by replacing the entire duct assembly.

Power won't turn on

Hi Colleen,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulty with your DC25. If your machine won't run, it may have overheated due to a blockage, and the filters may also need a wash. You should find you machine will run again once it's had at least two hours to cool down - however, to make sure this doesn't happen again, please follow the steps shown in our online Support guide:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=51&product=DC25-ALLFLOORS

This should resolve the issue, but if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give our Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Can not finde reset button on my dc25 dyson

Hi Maurice,

I'm sorry to hear you're having difficulties with your DC25. Your cleaner is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brushbar if something jams it. To check everything is correct with the machine and reset the brushbar, please follow the steps shown in our online support guide:

http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/help.asp?article=1566&product=DC25-ANIMAL

You may also find the video below useful - please note, the brushbar will never rotate when the cleaner is standing in the upright position, so please make sure you have it reclined into the vacuuming position when you test it.

Following these steps should get the brushbar running again, but if you need any further assistance, please call us free on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1-866-693-9766 (US).

Best wishes,

Jack

Brushes won't spin when using the upright mode

Hi there,

Your DC25 is equipped with a safety device which shuts off the brushbar if it gets tangled with a rug fringe, shoelace etc. After making sure the brushbar is free of threads, hair or other obstructions, you'll be able to reset the cleaner and get the brushbar running again. The process is shown in easy-to-follow steps in the video below.

If you need further guidance, please refer to our online support pages:

http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=1156&product=DC25-ALLFLOORS

Please note, the brushbar will never rotate when the cleaner is standing in the upright position, or if you've turned it off manually by using the silver brush control switch located next to the red on/off switch.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve your issue without further assistance. However, if you've tried this and are still concerned, it's probably best if you get in touch with us directly - you can call us free on 0800 2980298 (UK), or 1866MYDYSON (US).

Kind regards,

Won't stand upright again

My Dyson DC 25 animal had this problem earlier today, all of a sudden it wouldn't go back into it's upright position. I looked on the bottom and the red pedal has two metal pegs which are supposed to be in a hook shaped track. one peg had slipped into a hole outside of the track (leaving a little scratch indicating the path it had taken), and all I had to do was wrestle it out of that hole and back in place.
