Delta ShopMaster JT160

Hi,

My neighbor lent me his Delta ShopMaster JT160 jointer, however, it won't start. Is there a reset button on the device or a troubleshooting guide available on line? (The safety plug is inserted in the on/off switch correctly)

Thanks,

Ken

There should be a reset circuit breaker on the motor itself. This will be a small button that may be red or white actually attached to the motor itself. This is normally triggered by heat, but could have been triggered by a move.

Re: Delta 6" shopmaster bench

It might seem obvious, and no doubt you've long since resolved this question, but was it possibly a breaker that threw due to an amperage overload on the circuit the jointer was plugged into?
The online manual (available here) takes pains to make sure the receptacle the jointer's plugged into is well grounded and any extension cords are of sufficient guage.
Assuming all that's in order, I guess you could bypass the switch to check to see if it is in fact at fault. Replacement parts are available from the same link above.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.

Manual for Delta Shopmaster 6" Jointer

Go to Dewaltservicenet.com and in the middle of the page towards the bottom type in your model number. It will take you to another page and click on the first JT160 and when it changes screens click on the instruction manual, I had to click on it a couple times to open it but I did look at and it is about 48 pages long. Let me know if you have any problems and I will check further
