0001 problem Hey did you ever figure out how to fix that 0001 code? I had a 0102 and did the xclamp replace, and had it working but then I tightened up my bolts, obviously too tight, and now I have the 0001:(

On the bottom of the board on the side of the USB there are little black chips. You knocked one of them off.

3 rrod 0102 error code

hi that exact code comes back as this:
E18: Error in the "Digital Backbone" (CPU/GPU/RAM), this is usually caused by a cold solder joint between the GPU and the mainboard.
There are two theories to fixing this one deals with the "X" clamps that hold down the chips. The other involves re-Heating the chips. DO NOT attempt either of these if your console is still under warranty. If your console is still under warranty return it to the store where it was purchased or call MS to have it replaced.

it is the dreaded rrod and it is covered for 3 years under warranty so check the date on the back and if its less than 3 years old just go to their website and they will exchange it for you, if its more than 3 years old then your only option is to either get another one or try the xclamp fix, how ever the fix may or may not work depending on how bad the over heating is
i fix these for 25 pound so you will need to shop around and see if its worth getting fixed
if your going to do it yourself then believe me its not an easy fix to do and if you have never done it before you can do more harm than good.

let me know if you need further assistance ok

plz rate this solution as i have a whole page of unrated posts, thanks

How do you fix error 0031 on xbox 360

This error is caused by a faulty/cracked RAM brick, however it can also be caused when the heatsink is shorting out a resistor or like a bad solder joint under the GPU. If your xbox still under warranty send it back to Microsoft, if not try the xclamp fix. You could also try to Loosen your screws and make sure the heatsink isnt shorting out a resistor. You could Replace the faulty RAM brick or Cold joint/Shortcircuit under the Southbridge and/or Replace dvd power cord. Short in the dvd drive cord or the cord is in backwards.

Error Code 0020

First, my xbox would have one red light and E 74. Then when I opened it up and booted it I got three red lights and 0020. I took out the motherboard, replaced the heatsink compound and did the x-clamp fix, but I couldn't get nylon washers in the right size so i just used no washers at all. Varying the tightness of various x-clamp bolts gave me 0020, 0003, 0002, 0001, or it would boot up to the black screen and I'd get E 74 again. Other times the xbox would almost immediately overheat. Most of the time I would get 0020, though. At that point, I gave up and I just tightened up the bolts replacing the x-clamp a certain way (nothing seemed special about it) and put the motherboard back in the case without testing it. I screwed everything back together, and since the heads of the bolts were thicker than they should have been, the motherboard didn't really sit flat in the metal cage. But i just screwed the motherboard back into the cage not to tight with the 9 small silver screws, which I would imagine put some stress on the mobo. Then I pu the rest of the case on and the 6 long screws, and once I had snapped everything back together I tried booting it up. To my great surprise it booted up fine! I played some halo 3 and it has booted up fine every time (3 times) since then
Many people have got this error You need to replace the xclamp and make sure there's extra pressure (less than half a turn) on the front right corner of the GPU. You can read more about xclamp replacement here.

its not an issue with ur HDD so no worries....

Error code 0102

Error code 0102 is still unknown The xclamp mod is a possible fix for this error there is also a possability that the error is caused by a bad soldering join on your cpu, gpu or your ram. I would check all those parts with a magnifiying glass to make sure that there are no cracks in the solder. Another way to possibly fix this is to turn off your HD format on the AV cables this might work.
