My needle broke and a piece of metal fell out of machine

I was sewing and my needle broke. The metal that holds the needle in place fell off and another long piece of metal fell out. The long piece is part way straight, and then curves around perpendicular to the strait part doing a 3/4 turn. I am not exactly sure how to put it back together. I was sewing and I hit a pin. The metal that holds the needle in place fell off and the thread glide fell off. The needle clamp won't stay on nor will it hold the needle in place.

tat solution does not work. it is not simply the needle! IT IS TE NEEDLE HOLDER (THE PIECE OF METAL) & the thread guide FELL OFF! I know how to position the needle. doesn't do muc good if holder won't stay on machine.

The solutions are of no help, thus far. All pieces there. Have been sewing for many years. never came across this problem before. But this is my first Brother sewing machine & now probably my last. a machine should not fall apart doing something as simple as changing a needle.

I have the same situation. I have had the machine for years with no problems. For no apparent reason the whole metal piece that holds the needle fell off. Reading on line it I seen another machines book reference that it means the metal housing that holds the needle is damaged. So I'm looking for replacement parts and will update what happens.

Metal boot shape piece goes inside needle bar then needle they keep falling out. Metal fell out trying to change

Would you please say what model you have? I gather that there's now a problem with your needle clamp, and it won't hold needles? Those clamps can be replaced inexpensively--you just slide the old one off and the new one on--but I could be more specific about where you can buy a replacement if you supplied the model number.

MY BOBBIN CASE FELL OUT TWO PIECES HOW DO I PUT IT BACK TOGETHER

I assume you actually mean the metal ring that holds the small round case that the bobbin itself sits in. There are usually two arms that swing in to hold that larger metal ring in place and then there is a plastic and metal piece that sit behind the large metal ring. fit the plastic piece that may look somewhat like a scoop next to the metal piece that usually has the post the the bobbin fits onto and has a quite sharp tooth on it. The metal ring then goes on to hold those two pieces in place and the two arms swing in to hold the metal ring into place. The bobbin or bobbin case now can be put back in. Hint on metal ring placement: they almost always have a notch that goes at the very top where the arm on the bobbin case sits in when it is in place. You may find it easiest to do this with the machine laying on its back so you don't have to have 4 hands to hold everything in place while putting everything back in.
Good luck!

The thing you put the needle in and their is a wire thing that goes in there...that piece fell out and needle won't stay in...it's a brother XR-35

What fell out was the needle clamp gib - a small wedge-like part that presses on the needle to hold in place.

You may be able to get it repaired or replaced.

Search online for parts, or ask a sewing machine service tech for an estimate for having the machine repaired.

That would be the thread guide. You need a small allen wrench to put this whole thing back on. There is a hole in the right side, looks like a hole, it's blackish, but is for allen wrench. The curved metal piece slides up into a tiny hole from the bottom near where needle enters then slide whole thing back on machine and tighten with allen wrench.

I have a Bernette 50 sewing machine....i was sewing velcro....the screw assembly on the post where the needle goes into fell off and the thread guide fell off it....i can't tell if it is broken or just...

That can be tricky. Some thread guides and needle clamps have to be assembled and then slid up into place with the needle screw holding it together. Some have a set screw to hold it.

My needle broke and a piece of metal fell out of machine

this sounds like the needle guard it is usually held on by the same screw that holds the needle clamp it should fit so that it comes across the needle at the front to stop your fingers being sown but not interfere with the needle try turning by hand before turning back on.

My needle broke and a piece of metal fell out of machine

Totally happened to me last week. I discovered that the metal piece that fell off and holds the needle has a small screw that holds it in place. It needs an Allen wrench (tiny one) to tighten it back into place. I just lucked into figuring it out.
