Printers usually will be recognized when the power is on, also check on the connection. Along with these printers are the software it came with, assuming they're installed and seem inoperable at the moment. So you might want to check Device Manager to make sure everything is all good there. You can also use functions in the control panel and perhaps achieve the same purpose, that is without using the software it came with. Hope you fix it.
Unplug, remove battery, Remove and reseat Memory Mods, try to reboot. If no, Remove HDD and test, replace if necessary. Has their been any damage? Dropped?
I have a Canon mx432 that was new, but gave me a 5100 message that I couldn't clear. I cleaned the transparent belt that guides the print cartridges, and now it works great. I spent hours on it until I cleaned that strip - - nothing else worked
Possible that the processor in the main controller unit has hung up. If there is no result even after the power plug is removed for few hours or even overnight, it is possible that the controller unit has failed. need to confirm if you able to source one for a test before you order or invest.

Driver problem. Go into control panel and delete the adapter drivers. Remove the wifi adapter Then re-boot. I suspect the BSD (blue screen of death) was a result of a driver problem. If you have another computer that you can get on the internet with, go to the manufacturer website and download a driver. If you can get one, install the driver BEFORE plugging in the device and wait for the install program to prompt you to plug in the device. If you can't download a new driver, try plugging in the device again and see what happens. You need to avoid the BSD.
