Question about Compaq Presario X1000 Notebook
It seems after taking out the cmos battery, the laptop does not want to stay powered up on its own. Here is exactly whats happening:
1) I press the power button, the yellow led lightning bolt lights up, the green led power lights up, and the green led on the touchpad lights up, then goes off within a 1.5 seconds. 2) When I apply pressure to the sides of the laptop and hold it firmly, then power on, the initital leds light up and the blue led wlan lights up, followed by the fan powering up. 3) Conitnuing to hold firmly the notebook boots fine into OS as it should. 4) When I ease on the pressure the laptop turns off. Can someone help Identify the cause of this issue. I am very PC Savy and have no problem of dismantling the notebook to get to the root cause, if that is what is to be done. Once again the problem is getting the notebook to power up on its own and staying on. [centrino 1.5GHz, XP, ATI9200] Thanks plenty for any assitance anyone can provide... SilkPC
