The keys to use are
FN + F11
Those keys used together will turn on / of the wifi of your laptop
If the wifi light does not turn on it is most probably because you are missing the drivers for your wifi card or that they are corrupted
click on start and choose Run
in the dialog box enter
devmgmt.msc
and press enter
clic on the network section and locate your wifi card,
right clic on it and choose uninstall
Close all opened box and restart the Computer
upon restart windows will redetect your wifi card and reinstall the drivers for it
