I have the 46GW945 set and the schematics were folded up and stuck under the main convergence board (one on the right) but the board with the chip on it should be staring you in the face as you look in the back of the unit. Another interesting thing is the chip is not a STK392-110 on my board it is a STK730-130

Marco; You have a Clutch malfunction read this post Clutch Fix. You may be able to get away with just a Clutch One-Way Roller bearing clean up and re-lube. What are the first two numbers of your Serial Number it will be 10 thru 17? That is your Series number.Series 10 and 11 from what little feedback I have received from FAV6800A/FAV9800A owners use the upper bearing ring you will see described in the Clutch Fix post. Here is where the Serial number is located if you haven’t already observed.Thank you for calling out your model number. This board is structured very poorly for not asking up front info of model number and serial number. Let me know if I can help…..Rich
this is weak power distribution throughout the unit. you wil need to test the power supply board for blown capacitors and resistors as well. replace this vital board if you notice any swollen or disscoloredcomponets.
You can get parts for your model by going to the following link and leaving them an email stating the model of your set and indicate which board you are needing. Heres the link http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
YOU'VE LOST VERTCAL DEFLECTION---THIS COULD BE SOME PARTS IN THE VERTICAL SECTION BAD,,LOST A VOLTAGE GOING TO THE CIRCUIT OR WORST CASE ----FLUID FROM THE PICTURE TUBES HAVE LEAKED ON THE CIR BOARDS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM---NEED TECH FOR THIS ONE!!!!!!!!!!!
The GE (actually RCA) 46GW945 uses the PTK195 chassis. There is a separate power supply for the convergence circuits in those sets. The earlier versions used a switching transistor but most sets use the STK730-010 power IC. I have seen many of those IC's stop working after a power surge, resulting in very curved sides with screwy colors. You can remove the back and you will see the 2 main boards at the bottom of the set. The convergence power supply board is mounted above the board on the right (when viewed from the back) and has a pretty large black IC mounted on a little heat sink, labeled STK730-010. Replace that IC and the colors should return to normal. If you do not have experience replacing IC's and working on TV's then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
You will need to get to the control board and see if any of the front panel buttons are sticking. if they are not, you will have a bad switch or the remote sensor is defective. If you have no TV repair experience. you will need to consult a pro to assist you with this repair. Good Luck
