Most likely your print head is clogged, there are 2,00 some nozzle's in it. If the printer is not used for a moderate amount of time the ink can dry up and cause a clog in those nozzle's. You can try doing a printhead clean from the main menu, or homecenter->?->maintenance. Then after that do a calibration, print a demo sheet to see if there is any improvment. The printhead clean pushes ink through the nozzles to try to clear clogs. The calibration scans those nozzles to see which are avalible to use, and makes sure that all the avalible nozzles are being used. If this does not fix the problem you most likely need a printhead but you will have to call kodak; as they are not avalible in stores. Also you can try updating your firmware from kodak home center, or www.kodak.com/go/downloads

When you install new printhead in the printer, you will get a message" New printhead detected ,load papers in paper tray and press start. If u do not get this message, that means you have not installed printhead properly. Kodak 5300 prints light or not at all color does better

to resolve the problem try to clean the printhead first, to clean the printhead just press on the menu button, select clean printhead, select deep clean.
After you clean the printhead try to re-calibrate the printhead, just go back to the menu the select calibrate printer then select print calibration page. Once you have the calibration sheet, place it on top of the scanner make sure that the blue arrow on the printout is pointing on the yellow arrow located on the top corner of the scanner glass then press on the start button to scan the calibration page. Once the calibration is complete try to make a test print, just go back to the menu then select print demosheet then press ok. If this will not correct the problem you need to call their technical support hotline

Problem with colors of pictures

Clean the printhead (with the 5300 printer do it from the main menu, with the 5100 printer do it from the home center.)

Calibrate the printer.

Print a demo sheet.

If you have success, Voila.

If not, please call Kodak support at 1800 421 6699.

Kodak 5300 printer

K...Trust the solution. Try these steps. Open the printer, remove the ink and remove the printhead (See User's guide). Reseat the printhead and the ink cartridges. The printer will come up with an error message that requires calibration. Do the calibration and scan the sheet that prints right after by pushing the start button. In the menu options, clean the printhead. Do one basic and one deep. Print a demo sheet (another menu option) to see if the quality has gotten better. If it has not call Kodak AiO Tech support. You will need a replacement printhead.
