My landlord purchased a brand new General Electric Model AEL08LP Air Conditioner for my apartment but did not leave the Remote Instructions. Can you tell me how to use it? Or where to find a manual?

Try code 1848. It worked for my GE air conditioner.

You will need the codes that came with the general remote to match the Hyundai. Hyundai air conditioners may run the same codes as LG, Sharp , Daewoo so try the codes for those as well if you don't have luck with the Hyundai code

yes..you can purchase a replacement remote control for your air conditioner from sites that offers it. Like Ebay.com, amazon.com and alibaba.com

The replacement remote will of course depends on the brand and model number of your aircon. These sites also offers original remote control for your unit.

Check your air conditioner is having heat model also. Otherwise remote may be wrong.

If you purchased this unit new, it should have came with the remote. If it is a used model, you might try writing down the model, serial, and product number and check with the Maytag Dealer, or go online with all information and see if you can order a new one.

Sounds to me you are low on freon and the evap coil in icing up

one hose is the heated condensing air and one hose is the intake air. if this unit is not working correctly and u just purchased it take it back. if the landlord will replace it tell them. do not call a service tech to check this unit out if u know 4 sure the temp is set right and it continues to blow hot and the exhaust hose blows outside and the unit is set to cool you are money ahead to replace it. hopefully a landlord or recent purchase can bail you, you can find these units at home depot lowes and get them 4 about 400 dollars. hopefully it's covered somehow by warranty or landlord but the cost for checkout and service will exceed the cost for replacement. have you tried to unplug the unit leave it unplugged and try again. have u cleaned the filter. have you noticed ice anywhere. maybe a light that tells you the drain is plugged i don't wan't to get you're hopes down when you are burning up but check these things and let me know if u see any abnormalities. do you leave the unit running in hopes that you will come home and it works? check for ice is there air blowing constantly? if u dont get air flow you could have a fan thats out or its iced up. let me know.

I have that model Air conditioner with remote. Although the remote is marked Admiral thats the only identifying marks on the outside. Here are pictures of the remote.

Hope this helps. You might try a company called Vance Baldwin they usually carry a large inventory of remote replacements for all kinds of applicances. Had to get a remote for my Panasonic DVD player and it was only $12.00 (brand new)
