first used a dvd cleaner disc. It didnt work. Then I opened the cover, - and out fell first one half of the lens, then the other half. It as broken. I loosed the detailjs that it was fastened to and found the hole where it shall sit empty. It did not work to fix it. Can I buy this lens or this part that contains the lens and shift the old from a new one? Where can I buy it? Regards and thanks

To my surprise, CD cleaner disc did it for me. It's a very old Philips one with a bit of furry stuff on the track side. I was amazed it even played, but it did and after letting it run for 20 secs, tried proper discs and it works fine. And this Pioneer PD-M603 is at least 15 years old!Looks like it would be hard to clean the lens manually because it's a long way inside.

The last 3 discs might be CD-RW which can be rewritten, but not all cd players will be able to read them. Just go to the store and buy some CD-R disks and re-burn the last 3 disks. That should solve your problem.

My Pioneer PD-M403 will not play computer made CDs. Why won't they play?

Hello,

incompatibility is the cause of the problem. There is nothing wrong with both your player and the computer made CD's, they are not just clicking with each other.

The Pioneer PD-M403 player is also an old model, this could cause the problem.

There is not settings whatsoever that you can use ti solve this problem.

Take care.

Turned on my Pioneer PD M501 one day and it would not play. Disc tray will not retract into cartridge and cartridge will not eject.

Sometimes the little ball bearings that keep the cart trays separated come out causing tray jams.
Make sure your tray retracts all the way into the player flush with the face plate, gently push it in while retracting for those occasional no-read situations. (Also for Denon that takes these same carts). Also note that the CDs go in the Upside Down position.

Can't remove cd cartridge because won't power up.

With the top off the unit, you can turn the tray gears manually for slow eject function. Unplug unit before touching anything inside, check internal fuses.
