Engine surges

Check motor mounts and transmission mount

Also check the air tube (TOP AND BOTTOM) for hairline crack.

A worn motor mount can cause excessive vibration and damage the air inlet tube.

Use a bottle of yellow HEET dry gas / fuel dryer to remove moisture in your fuel tank.

Snow blower runs on ether will not run otherwise...will check for vacuum in tank Any other testing I can do? Does the spring loaded screw in the bulb under the gas feed on the carburator adjust the...

No that spring just pushes the bulb back out. Provided that there is no vacuum in the tank, the next most likely cause of fuel starvation would be restriction of the fuel line. Work backwards from the carburetor to the tank, making sure that you have adequate fuel flow.

My generator will run if i keep pushing the prime button as soon as a stop doing that it stalls problem:

Hi, if you need to push the primer to keep the engine running, then the engine is starved for fuel. The carburetor is responsible for delivering the proper mixture of air to fuel at any given speed. The carb, if it is the bowl type will need an adjustment in the float (located inside the bowl) to allow more fuel to enter the reservoir. As this becomes available the the needle valve will release whatever fuel is required for any given speed. Hope this helps.

I have a 2008 polaris sportsman 500HD the damb thing has been nothing but problems ever since i got it, right now the damb thing won't even run, here's what its doing, when you start it and put it in drive...

It sounds like your carburetor is gummed up. This is a common problem if the engine has not been run in a while or if has been stored for the winter without fuel stabilizer. You may also have gotten some bad gas, or a fuel treatment that wasn’t compatible, (if you ran one).

If you are familiar with your machines carb; dismantle, clean, inspect components, replaced damaged items and reassemble.

If you are not familiar I suggest taking it to your local service center.

Let me know if this helps. Good luck.

04 polaris sportsman 400 wont run without choke pulled out

you need to clean the carburetor, it may be clogged, the choke only dumps in raw fuel in to the combustion chamber, the jets aren't working properly, clean it up then try it

My 1996 skidoo is blowing gas/oil out the exhaust

the air/fuel mixture may be too high on the carb.
there are adjustment screws on the carb.
make very small adjustments.
keep in mind that 2stroke engines like yours are supposed to have oil/gas in the exhaust.
you could lean the fuel/oil mix a little if it is a very excessive amount.
