Question about Creative Labs PC-Cam 300 Digital Camera

PC-Cam 300 no longer functions as a digital camera

Recently, I tried to take pictures with my PC-Cam 300, but it doesn't function as a digital camera anymore; it only seems to work when connected to the computer. I've checked the batteries, and they're fine. What else could possibly be wrong?

Re: PC-Cam 300 no longer functions as a digital camera

Let's do a hardware reset on the player: Press Snapshot button and Operational mode button simultaneously for more than two seconds this will delete all the files from the camera. A beep sound is heard when the memory is cleared and LCD displays zero. This may get the camera working again.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Aiptek camera transfer to cumputer

Using the PC Camera Function
1. Installing the AF Cam driver
You need to install the AF Cam driver before using PC Camera
or video conferencing function.
* If you have already installed the AF Cam driver, skip step 1. "Installing the AF Cam driver" and go to step 2. "Connecting your camera to your computer".

2. Connecting your camera to your computer
2.1 Turn on your computer
2.2 Set Mode dial on your camera to 528dc6d.png
2.3 Insert the USB cable to the USB port on your computer
2.4 Insert the other end of the USB cable to the USB port on your camera.

* Then you can see the camera as removable disk. You can transfer the pictures from your camera to your computer like transfering files from one folder to another.

1. Go to camera folder
2. Select the file/pictures you want to transfer then right click and choose move option (if you want the files to be moved on your computer) then choose the desired target folder or drive.

*you can just copy the files form the camera to your computer too.
select the files that you want to copy then right click, choose copy then paste on the desired folder or drive.

Hard to say without more information, however, what first comes to mind is battery age. Rechargeable (assuming this is what you have) have a finite life (anywhere from months to 1+ years). The battery may no longer be holding much of a charge, also, the charger may no longer be functioning properly.
