Re: Washer/Dryer is not spinning
ngfam1 At your service!
Sometimes this can happen when the connector from the transmission to
the drive of the agitator is worn and needs to be replaced.Similar to
the drive shaft of a rear wheel drive v-8 car!
Could make this sound first, like a knock, knock, knock or klack, klack, klack OR,SOMETIMES JUST NO SOUND AT ALL AND JUST NOT CONNECTED FROM THE TRANSMISSION TO DRIVE THE ROTATION OF THE TUB! This means you need parts! and service! How old is the washer if it is 10 years old or more I recommend being prudish about investing a lot of money in to it! The newer models are so much more energy efficient, that they save you water, gas or electricity And detergent too! They can pay for them selves in energy savings in a few years!
If so here is a good company that's found nation wide.

I understand your Frigidaire laundry center, model# FGX831CS, is not spinning water out of your clothes completely. I see that on the first spin cycle the drum is not spinning and is just making noise, and on the second spin cycle the drum spins to the left very slowly and loudly. First check to see if your washer is overloaded. Try taking some clothes out and spinning them again. Secondly, make sure that the load is not out of balance. Try rearranging the clothes to allow for proper spinning. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
Hello. Noises are common when using a two-in-one washer and dryer, as clicking or whirring is part of the cleaning process during the transition to the next cleaning process. The GE Spacesaver washer and dryer combo uses a top-loading washer stacked beneath the front-loading dryer, and uses an agitator that makes noises throughout the spin cycle. Although whirring or clicking is normal, other noises or malfunction indicates a problem with the washer that requires minor troubleshooting. Professional repair is necessary if the washer continues to experience problems during the spin cycle, as there may be a problem with the washer's agitator. 1 Open the washer's door and check the balance of the load's clothes. Clothes that are unevenly distributed around the agitator cause excessive shaking and result in an imbalance during the spin cycle. Reduce the load's size by removing clothing if the washer's drum is overloaded. 2 Push "Start/Pause" to pause the spin cycle and turn the washer's cycle knob to the "Off" position. Turn the knob to "Spin Only" and press "Start/Pause" to reset the cycle. 3 Turn the wrench counterclockwise or clockwise around the unit's legs to adjust the appliance's balance. The legs are adjustable with the help of a wrench to ensure the unit does not shake while in use. An unleveled unit shakes as it spins, and causes excessive squealing or rattling as it attempts to dry the clothes. 4 Touch "Start/Pause" on the front of the washer's control panel and unplug the washer/dryer unit's power cord from the electric oultlet. Wait two minutes and plug the power cord back into the electric outlet. Push "Start/Pause" to resume the spin cycle. Thanks.
Sounds like the main drum bearings have failed, and the marks on clothes are probably grease spots from the main bearings.
It is quite an involved repair, and not one that I would recommend you tackle yourself unless you are competent to do so,as it really is involved.

GE WPXH214ACC Washer drum makes loud noise when spinning sometimes. We've had it since 2005 & never had this happen before. Washer is level, must stop & redistribute clothes to correct. Just started happening now.
