Easy Share printer Dock series 3

Recently the printer dock, which up to now has printed photos perfectly, only prints half of the photo- it cuts off the top portion. I recently replaced the cartridge, but it has not corrected the problem.

I have the same problem! It used to print beautifully now it's only 1/2 a page. I changed the print cartridge twice and used a new set of sheets to print, cleaned rollers, etc. but it still continues.

The problem is most likely a broken plastic lever on the end of the shaft that moves the print head. The plastic lever is keyed to the shaft by a flat on the shaft. The plastic has a tendency to split at the edge of the flat, resulting in the lever slipping on the shaft. This in turn results in one side of the print head not contacting the paper with sufficient pressure. The other end of the shaft has a thick plastic sector gear which is much less likely to break.

I fixed mine by making a clamp from a metal spacer (made from split tube about 1/8 inch long) and force fitting it over the part of the plastic lever that fits on the metal shaft (on the end towards the inside of the unit). There is just enough clearance to do this without hitting the print head frame.

To remove the plastic lever, first remove two screws from back of unit, then pull up on top of unit, unplug two ribbon cables from circuit board and remove top. Then unplug two remaining ribbon cables from circuit board, and three screws holding circuit board. Lift circuit board and fan/fan-holder as one piece. Finally, disengage tab on plastic retainer on end of metal shaft, rotate tab straight up and lift shaft up and to the side (may require a little wiggling). The plastic lever slides off the metal shaft.

If the boundary between the blank half and the printed half is a sharp line, a wire to the print
head may be broken or disconnected. If the boundary is irregular
(wanders up and down an 1/8 inch or so), the problem is most likely a
broken plastic lever on the end of the shaft that moves the print head.

Printer dont print complete picture

Hello Debbie, Your Photo printer has internal problems, this is not rare and is the reason so many of these are for sale real cheap on E-Bay. I have repaired dozens of these units with internal problems. Kodak had a lot of complaints about these units due to high failure rates. Too many internal plastic parts from China !!!!!!!

Best Regards, Russell

are you sung a camera dock or a printer dock?

if your using a printer dock make sure the ribbon is cleared or not torned., now try to unplug/replug the power cable of the printer dock 2x, then try to print! if its failed download the latest firmware of the printer dock at kodak.com/go/downloads., then you just need to follow the instruction on the website.

If your using a Dock., the dock is not capable of printing! I hope i answered your question Gudluck!

Picture dock

Go to Start/Control Panel/ Add remove software.
Remove the Kodak Easy share software.

Do not re install it.

Use USB cable to connect camera to computer
Use alternative software [picasa which is Free] or any other image editor for processing and printing images.
It is likely your printer has supplied software that is suitable.

Cant charge camera on dock or print photos

the dock won't charge batteries that are ni-mh kaa2hr or Li-ion battery pack - so check that

about the printer's ability to recognize the cam, try this.. remove batt, put cam on top of dock (when cameras are on a dock, they can use the dock's power so you can print pictures without batteries) check if somethign will come up on the cam screen

if not .. either would need to be sent in for repair. a digital rep will advise you to send both so the repair center can check

Kodak EasyShare Software/Printer problems

Kodak has been making a lot of changes to that program, due to problems. If you loaded the software that came with the camera, it is very likely out of date. You need to visit the Kodak website and download the latest version of the software.
