probably need both as the extra 100 volts would burn the board and the motor
it is never advisable to buy electric equipment from another country because of the voltage differences but even then the plugs are made different so that the cord will not plug directly into the power outlet.
One of your hoses also has a cord that goes the length of the hose. Up at the handle end the cord goes to your handle. At the end that plugs into the unit, the cord plugs into the unit just under the hose hole. You should also have a hose with no cord that is used with the bare floor brush and other attachments.
Does the power nozzle have a motor in it. If it does the capacitor is probably an interference suppressor type. Is it a square / oblong cap with 2 leads? If it is then you need to look at it and find the capacitance value and the voltage. In the UK it is something like 0.1uF / 250 Volt (or higher). Some have 3 leads, 2 go to the motor power leads and the other is an earth connection. If it's a cylinder type then it will probably be either a mains filter cap or a motor start cap. Either way you should be able to get one from electronic component suppliers or even Ebay. As long as you can get the info off the original cap.
The unit and the nozzle have to be taken apart and cleaned. You almost for sure will need a new HEPA and possibly even the motor cooling filter. There is a lot of dust inside that got moist (moisture in the air, vacuuming wet carpet, maybe you have pets or everything together)
It will require a bit more advanced skills but you do not have to be a vacuum repair professional to do this.

Just stopped working and will not turn on. Can you tell me where to get a manual? Thanks Hello, I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Rainbow E Series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum. The best way to get a Rainbow E Series owner’s manual is to contact the Rainbow website and or factory and give them the model and serial # for the item and you may be able to download the manual from the website or the might have to mail it out to your home USPS. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions. The Rainbow / RexAir Factory phone number is listed below: http://rainbowvacuum.com Customer Service 1-248-643-7222 Monday thru Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST Thanks, Don the Vac Man Go Ahead.
