I have a Dish for two TV's. I was watching one, came to watch on the main TV, the picture was a little square up in the corner. I pressed Format and everything went off. Now it says HDM1 in the upper left hand corner and Not Supported Mode in the center. I have tried everything and cannot see anything with the Dish but can switch to antenna and get my regular channels. I don't think anything bad is wrong, I have tried all the buttons, including Recover and nothing works. Thanks

If you click on a picture, you see the square with the up arrow in the bottom left corner. Press that square. You now see a blue ball with a v in it on the right bottom corner. This means you can add more pictures, by going through your pictures and tap them. Not to many, because most mail servers allow not many pictures in one mail. then top right, press next. Then choose mail. Now you can enter the mailadres, subject and you can write the mail. Then top right press send.
You will need to press the "Format" button on your DISH remote This button will have a * on it. By pressing this button repeatedly, you can change the format of the screen set it to normal. Next grab the factory remote for your TV and try the different formats most likely normal will work best on this setting as well.
This formatting issue can commonly be corrected by simply pressing the (*) button on your remote this button is also known as the format button and is located in the bottom left corner of the remote, which is also to the left of the zero button. You can change the formatting of the tv picture by pressing the star/format button until the format is corrected. I hope this helps! -Kirstie DISH Network
We would be happy to help get that fixed. It sounds like you may be in the incorrect screen format. Press the * located below the number 7 on the DISH Network remote control. Cycle the formats to determine the screen format that fits best.
We hope that this fixes it for you. Thanks so much for choosing DISH Network!

I assume you have a wide screen tv? most TV show are broadcast in a square (4:3) format, on a wide screen television the screen is rectangular, so to fit the square picture on the rectangle screen you have to either crop the top and bottom, or stretch and distort the image. the only real solutions are either to watch everything in the 4:3 format (leaving the sides of your screen blank), or subscribe to HD which will broadcast most programs in a wide screen format with out distortion.
Hey there! Becki Barned from Dish Network customer service here. The black borders are usually caused by watching standard definition programming on a high definition television. Try to change the format on your tv. Either by pressing the * button below the 7, or trying a format or display button on the original tv remote. Hope this helps!!!
We would be happy to help you get that fixed. On the DISH Network remote press the "*" button located in lower left corner of the remote. Press it repeatedly to rotate through different
screen shape settings until arrive at the desired format.
We hope that this helps get your picture corrected. Thanks for choosing DISH Network!

Press setup on your foxtel remote, go to systems settings, and look for "TV Type" menu, you can change settings there, your TV is a 4.3 (square) not widescreen. Its not a telly problem your just giving it the wrong signal.
