I have recently changed my email from Thunderbird to MS Outlook. (I know, that's the wrong direction...) As a result of the previous HotSync, the contacts database on the Treo is duplicated. I edited out the extraneous contacts in the Outlook, and now I want Outlook to overwrite the Treo. I tried the HotSync feature "Computer Overwrites HandHeld" but that did not eliminate the dupes. I am afraid that the next sync will re-pollute my Outlook Contacts. Can I purge the contacts from the Treo in one action and drop the contacts in from Outlook?

Download Thunderbird Emails to Outlook Converter to import Mozilla Thunderbird mailbox to .pst of outlook. In other words, you can also backup and Open MBOX into Outlook PST using the best recommended MBOX to PST Converter.
MBOX(Mailbox) which not only contains but also attachment files such as email messages, contacts and calendar data. There are several other email clients who save their email folders as MBOX format like Mozilla Thunderbird, Apple Mail, Backupify, Opera mail, Eudora etc. Unlike, Outlook saves its emails data as PST file format which stands for personal storage table; stores online assessed files on your desktop.
Nowadays people are using several email services for personal as well as official purpose. So there are many users looking for a solution to migrate from one email client to another. One of the most searched queries is "How to import Thunderbird to MS Outlook?". So in order to provide the perfect solution we have done a strong research to provide you the best applications to convert .mbox to .pst in the most efficient way.
I suggest that you create an additional subfolder under your main contacts for your master contact list and use the main contacts file as your list for syncing with your treo. Once you have your contacts moved around you need to change your setting on the sync to have your pc override the handheld. I use pocket mirror to sync with and it's a fairly simple setting to change. I would also suggest that you export your contacts to a back up .pst file before doing the sync. If it messes up on you with duplicates or something you can alwaws just delete the contacts and import them from your back up. I recently cleaned up my duplicates on a treo 600 using this method.
Simplest method for 'switchers':
Assume that your Treo 600 has the data you need (it does but you are focusing on your Palm Desktop in your question).
Install the Palm Desktop software again using the CD but this time, choose the option to synchronize with Outlook during the installation process. This will switch the synchronization to Treo <-> Outlook instalead of Treo<->Palm Desktop. Assuming your Treo is recently synched with Palm Desktop, this will merge the data you have in the Treo with that of your Outlook profile.
