I can't find a replacement spool TF065 for my ST6000 trimmer/edger. My husband passed away, and there is no spool in the trimmer. Home Depot says there is none. You just wind it on by hand. I have the instruction manuel, and it shows a spool.

Don't know where you are or what make and model your unit is.
At this end of Canada, Canadian Tire, Home Hardware, Home Depot, most have racks of product.

I bought a Shakespeare Push-n-Load 3 blade trimmer head at The Home Depot for about 26 dollars and picked up a pack of 12 replacement blades for another 7. Did a whole 3 acres worth of weed whacking and still didn't need to change the blades. I was also powering through some pretty thick bushes with ease. Highly recommended.

Check the spring inside and the spool too. If broken, a universal type head can be purchased at Home Depot.

Most line trimmers will take .065 line. you can get this at lowes or home depot. Be sure to rewind it in the direction shown on the spool.

Home Depot have the string for the black and decker weed eater

if your refering to the batt handle then its a obsolete item with no replacement part number. your part # is 243215-00 and your best bet is to sell it or put lots of ducktape or epoxy or keep checking ebay

Go to home depot. look at the floor model and the replacement spools they sell there. Reverse engineer the stringing process or but a pre-loaded spool.
Otherwise,
1. Squeeze the tabs on the side of the head of the unit to remove the spool cover.
2. remove spool.
3. place end of string in small hole in center ring of spool.
4. wide spool with string in the direction of the arrows printed on the spool. DO NOT OVERLOAD!.
5. snap string into notch on spool and cut string leaving 6" exposed.
6. thread 6" of string through hole in side of unit head, replace spool, and replace cover.
7. go cut grass.

It is fairly easy to restring trimmer. just follow the arrows on the spool.

Problem solved. We noticed something was broken off a small part inside the spool holder. My husband took it to the local hardware store, and one of the employees gave him the part from a trimmer that had been returned.

The ST6000 uses centrifugal force. Once you mount the new spool of string and thread it out of the feeder and into the housing below, plug it in, give it power and hold the line feed button down, feeding the line. Within seconds, the line will feed out through the head and you'll be in business.
