I have the identical problem. When press the on/off button to turn on the monitor, I get a pause, then a flash of static video input with snow, then the screen powers down and i get a flashing red light on the standby lcd indicator.I have the identical problem. It is possible that the TV was hit by a small power surge, and the audio processor is locked up. You need to unplug the TV from the wall for 40 MIN, and that will reset the audio processor back to normal.
The backlight has gone (Find a dark place and shine a torch into the screen and see if you can see an image in the background, if you see an image then the backlight has gone) - Needs a new backlight (Engineer to remove and fit) or have a new panel fitted.
I have a sony tv PFM-42B1 when I turn it on it go to standby an a red light flash I count count 14 time but I heard that it only support to flash 1 to 6 time how do count the flash

Your best bet, if you have ther board out yourself is PTS Electronics. Techs even feed these guys because they're well known for their quality of work and reasonable price.
