Try this...

Turn silent mode on or off
Press and hold On/Off.
To turn on silent mode:
Press Mute.
To turn off silent mode:
Press Sound.

For many Uniden phones, the silent mode is toggled on and off by pressing and holding the # key (below 9 on any handset) when the phone is in standby mode. You may need to hold the key for as long as 5 seconds and a confirmation/length of silent mode prompt will be displayed when you enable Silent Mode. (If you do not respond to the prompt, the silent mode lasts until you toggle it off.)

Some models have a Do Not Disturb option. This is toggled on and off with the DND key on the base.

press the red button on the side to open camera mode> click the little menu button (this should be the right hand button when you use your phone normaly)> scroll across to the very last option (this should be settings)> click okay> scroll down till you find an option saying shutter> click okay> chose none and click okay to exit it.

if this doesn't work put your phone in silent/ meeting mode

HI Maddy, You can turn off the shutter sounds in teh settings menu. This will turn off the sound altogether so not ideal but at least a work around.

well, you cant switch off the shutter sound permanently. what you can do is while taking picture or video, put your phone in silent mode. there will be no sound.
