Question about Northgate (STAX2517C2) PC Desktop
While typing in MS-Word, my Northgate Home PC just randomly froze and was completely unresponsive, ctrl+alt+del would not work. I had to cut the power to get it to restart; when it did restart, the monitor would not display anything, the "not connected" flashing light turned on my monitor, and the red "hard-disk" light turned on my tower. I've tried everything, including using different monitors, they all had the same problem. I've also checked all of the external and internal connections, including the power supply and all that jazz--and I even made sure all of the internal connections were in their proper locations.
Totally out of optons. I'm considering bringing in my hard drive to a specialist to retreive my word files. Any suggestions?
You might need to change your AGP video card (the card where you attach your monitor cable). If a separate video card is not present, you might be getting your video directly from your mainboard. If the latter is the case, you can buy or borrow a PCI card with video port, insert it in a PCI slot in your mainboard and attach your monitor there.
