Question about Philips MCD288/37 DVD Micro Theater System Theater System
I've had my stereo connected for 1.5 yrs now (since I bought it) and had no problems. However one fine day it just decided to stop working i.e. the lights normally displaying a 'welcome' message on the set wont even turn on.
I checked the AC power cord and tried using other power outlets and don't believe this is the problem as I hear the speakers making a slight connection noise when I turn on the power switch.
As such I think it can only be the 15 pin D-sub cable or the stereo itself that is faulty. Can you suggest anything else or how to fix it?
(FYI - I bought the unit in Singapore but am using it in London now)

You will not get anything to do like that sir,
But you can do one thing, thats you can tap the wire of speakers to get a connections extra to join the speaker separately,
but here one drawback is there when you do like that the company people wont provide the warranty just keep in mind, because here there is a physical damage, for physical damage no company provide the warranty.

if you do a search on HTS3450 (same unit) you will find a thread with similar problems. My problem was similar and today I fixed it by changing 2 capacitors in the unit.

SOURCE: My philips hts3372d wont turn
Hi, this is likely because of Bridge problem in power section in the player, thats why its not turn on. There is diode issue in the power section its called bridge rectifier, so please check with this. It can also be as a result of a burnt fuse that needs to be replaced....

SOURCE: cannot get surround sound to work with Philips hts3106/f7 andonic tcp50g25. It works fine for Blue ray via the hdmi out of philips dvd/receiver, but not for xbox or cable etc (only works in stereo).
i have the same system. all you have to do is when you connect your xbox 360, press the surround button on the remote and then use the arrow buttons to change it to dolby music pro2 or multi channel audio. same goes with any device you connect. hope it helps. In my case the xbox is connected to the Tv via HDMI and bluray player is connected to xbox via compoent cable
