S75 Battery Shelf Life?

If I charge up both of my S75 Battery's (I got an extra with the Accessory Kit) how long will the charge on the 2nd Battery last when not in use or in the camera... I know that a laptop battery's gradually degrade when they are not in use, but I wanted to know if the 2nd battery would last, say, a few days with a nearly full charge, or if it loses the charge fairly quick.

I've had this link saved for just such a question. I've never dealt with Thomas Distributing before but they came highly recommended. They are supposed to get a charge solving battery questions- problems. http://www.thomas-distributing.com/batteries.htm

One important fact about extending the overall life of S70-75 batteries is to use the camera so that the charge is almost completely run down before you recharge it. This will also allow you to keep a larger charge in the battery. Don't "top it off"!

The Sony InfoLithium battery will hold it's charge for a LONG time. It will drop about 1% a week. I have pulled out a forgotten spare after over a year and still had about 50% of the normal charge. Others have reported longer time.

It should easily last a few days. I didn't think the infolithium batteries lost its charge, but I could be wrong.

Milwaukee tool 18 volt nimh battery won!t charge

If the battery pack is more than 2 years old its time for a replacement. The typical charge/discharge life cycle of a rechargeable cell is 500 - 700 times and the shelf life is about 3-4 years from the date of manufacture. If the charging indicator lights up when you dock the battery on to the base and still does not work after 5 hours - its due for a replacement.

Cannot find the battery location

I have the same bike that you do. To get at the battery you need to remove both the seat (2 bolts, 1 screw (at back)), AND also remove the tool kit housing. The battery sits behind the tool kit, and so to slide it out you need to remove both halves (front and back) of the tool kit housing. You have to take the seat off in order to get at one of the screws holding one of the battery terminals in place.

When I do this, I find the hardest parts to be to get at the screw attached to the battery on the side of the bike opposite the tool kit; not such an easy fit. The other part I find hard for some reason is getting the tool pack to fit back into the tool kit housing once you reattach it to the bike.

I am seriously thinking about attaching a "pigtail connector" to the battery for easy charging during the winter. I understand that most trickle chargers come with this kind of accessory.

Replacment Battery Charger for DSC-S75?

my S85 uses a AC-L10B power adapter. (pretty sure my F717 does too) I've never seen it for sale so you might have to contact sony directly. Alternatively you can buy a dedicated battery charger instead.
