S75 Battery Shelf Life?

If I charge up both of my S75 Battery's (I got an extra with the Accessory Kit) how long will the charge on the 2nd Battery last when not in use or in the camera... I know that a laptop battery's gradually degrade when they are not in use, but I wanted to know if the 2nd battery would last, say, a few days with a nearly full charge, or if it loses the charge fairly quick.

Re: S75 Battery Shelf Life?

I've had this link saved for just such a question. I've never dealt with Thomas Distributing before but they came highly recommended. They are supposed to get a charge solving battery questions- problems. http://www.thomas-distributing.com/batteries.htm

Re: S75 Battery Shelf Life?

One important fact about extending the overall life of S70-75 batteries is to use the camera so that the charge is almost completely run down before you recharge it. This will also allow you to keep a larger charge in the battery. Don't "top it off"!

Re: S75 Battery Shelf Life?

The Sony InfoLithium battery will hold it's charge for a LONG time. It will drop about 1% a week. I have pulled out a forgotten spare after over a year and still had about 50% of the normal charge. Others have reported longer time.

Re: S75 Battery Shelf Life?

It should easily last a few days. I didn't think the infolithium batteries lost its charge, but I could be wrong.

My kodak easyshare M320 isn't charging

I believe your camera has a specific battery and battery charger? You may need to purchase a new one. Even rechargeable batteries need to be replaced after awhile. Try purchasing a new kit (battery and battery charger) and see if that works!

Something like this:

Hope this helps!

I have just replaced the battery pack in my Canon SX 200 is camera. The battery was bought from a camera dealer, therefore not counterfeit, but when I turn on the camera it asks me to replace the battery...

Mostt batteries have an issue of SHELF LIFE and so if the battery that was given to you was on SHELF for a long time then it can develop BACK EMF and so will not charge to the limit designed. So check the date on the pack and if this is more than 6 months ago , it is better to claim for a refund or replacement. If your camera did not have any other issue this is the only possibility.
The first charge also must be done for 8-15 hours.

Have a Sony DSC-S75, digital still camera. Camera still works with a new battery, but the charger doesn't recharge the battery anymore. Any fixes to this?

Hello
The charger might gone bad too, check the charger as well, it is quite possible that your old battery was also not dead. the charger could not charge it properly,
Hope it helps

"Compatabile" battery does not work with Sony DSC W110 camera

The Sony's are notorious for rejecting batteries from other manufacturers. I'm told their batteries are made with a security chip embedded within. The accessory battery companies try to copy the codes, but Sony keeps changing them. Another issue arises if you charge a Sony battery on another brand of charger. The chip gets it's code messed up, rendering the battery useless and unrepairable. Bottom line is Sony tries very hard to keep the accessory market from encroaching on their market.

Low/exhausted battery. Is it the AA batteries or the MiMh battery that is the problem. Camera is relatively new

if you use the lcd screen a lot, which i know i do, it really shortens the battery life.  good to carry extras, NimH batteries have a shorter life but can be recharged 100s of times....       try different sets and let me know if any particular set gives you less life than the others.  Sometimes NimH batteries go bad, usually the charger lights will reveal this when you go to charge them...  but one bad battery will greatly shorten the battery life.  you are lucky the camera gives you the option of using either, so you could, say you were at disney world and your nimh were dead, pickup some AA to get you thru the day.  rsvp ;)

Lzoom lens goes out and in, immediately, then camera turns off

Pull the battery and plug the charger into the camera. It should turn on and take pics now. If it does, you need a new battery!

Yeah, I know, the battery shows fully charged but it's weak and old so it really doesn't have the current to drive the lens.

Try to clean the battery terminals with an abrasve pencil eraser, (old red eraser #2 pencil from grade school) and wiggle the battery in the camera (gently) to clean the terminals inside the camera.

Let the camera charge the battery completly, (not in the dock!) and see if it turns on.

If it does, you will probably find that it discharges VERY quickly.

Buy a new battery! That extra battery that you have had since you bought the camera is probably also shot! They do have a shelf life!

If the camera does not turn on with just the charger, (no battery) then it's probably a lens error, but you should see an error code if it is.

Good luck!

Help w/ Sony DSC-S75

If this is your original battery, I believe that it is time to replace it. I had the same battery in my old S85, then my old 707. It finally wore out, with very similar symptoms. Go on Ebay and find an OEM replacement. Don't buy an aftermarket battery for your S75. Buy cheap, buy twice. That S75 is still a great digicam. Replace the battery and continue to enjoy it.

Replacment Battery Charger for DSC-S75?

my S85 uses a AC-L10B power adapter. (pretty sure my F717 does too) I've never seen it for sale so you might have to contact sony directly. Alternatively you can buy a dedicated battery charger instead.
