Question about Palm Zire 31 Handheld

Can't synch Outlook Calendar Appointments

I've got a Zire 31 that I stopped using for awhile because I had lost the power cord. When I hooked it back up and performed a HotSync, everything synched but my appointments in Outlook Calendar, though I had had no trouble before. Holidays that I have set in Outlook appear in my Palm, but not appointments, and I get no error message. I've tried doing a hard reset on my palm, reinstalling the Palm software, and reinstalling just the Outlook conduits. I've also checked that all my HotSync settings are right - and clearly it's working on some level because the holidays I have set in Outlook appear on my Palm. I am just using this on my laptop computer, so none of the issues related to using a Microsoft Exchange Server apply in my case. I've looked through the entire Forum, I think, and can't find anything that works to fix this problem. Any ideas?

Re: Can't synch Outlook Calendar Appointments

Try uninstalling with Windows Uninstall Clean-up tool. XP seems to do a poor job of installing conduits sometimes. I think this might be an issue with the one conduit no being registered correctly in the Windows Registry. You can get this tool here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=290301 Uninstall Palm Desktop. Then shut down the PC. Then start it up again and re-install Palm Desktop. I hope this helps.

Just bought Zire 31 and won't hot sync Outlook Calendar, Contacts, Notes with the following log:

Generally this error means that HotSync manager (via the 4 Outlook conduits) is having a hard time connecting to your Outlook or, in some cases, specifically to your Oultook profile.

Hotsync with two computers

I just posted a similar kind of problem. With my old M105, this worked fine - Outlook on my work computer, Palm Desktop on my home computer. When I upgraded to Zire 31, I saw that message about 2 computers once during the past week, but never again. I was thinking about using the Install CD again on my work computer to see if there is an option for synching between 2 computers. (synching to 2 different computers seems to be the most reliable backup for one bad synch)

Synchronizing with Outlook

If the installer cannot see outlook, then it will not show the option. I think the Zire 31 CD has an option on it it that allows you to switch when you put the CD back into your PC. It should be visible on the autostart screen that pops up when you insert the CD.

When synching new Outlook calendar items, a "note" is added to the T5 calendar item

I have the same problem. T5 Win XP Home HP Pavilion Desktop Outlook 2003. It seems to only attach the blank notes to recurring appointments. Delete them all (which is annoying) and they come back after a HotSync

Unresolved Items when synching

Try the following.... Open Active sync on your PC. Double Click on Calendar. Change the settings such that it syncs only 0 past and 0 future appointments. SYNC (this will clear all calendar items on the IPAQ) Now go back in to those Calendar settings, and set it back to the default which is 2 past weeks and All Future appointments. SYNC (this will now reload all appointments into your Ipaq)
